Look up a diagram of the engine (specify make, model and engine size when searching) in Google images or something similar to it. Haynes or Chilton repair manuals are always a good buy, the books are very informative and explain in detail how to fix a lot of things. In my opinion, Chilton books are better because they cover more repairs, have better illustrations and usually have a lot more info. They are a little more expensive that Haynes, but I think they're well worth it. Hope I helped. Grimm

How do i refill the transmission oil in my 1997 Micra auto (1 ltr). Can't find the cap.

Hi: To Refill your Auto Transmission with Tranny Fluid, There is NO CAP, Look For a Dip Stick Similar to your Oil Dip Stick. You Refill your Transmission where the Transmission Dip Stick comes out of a Tube. You'll Need a Funnel that Fits inside the Transmission Dip Stick Tube. This Should Resolve your Question. Please Vote and That actually sends me How Well I have Helped You. Where is the trasmission oil located?

The transmission oil is located in the transmission. If you are looking for the dip stick, its on the engine and its written on the top of the stick. Do not mistake the oil dip for the transmission dip stick. It sounds as if you need someone to show it to you. Go to your nearest car parts and they will gladly show you the dip stick. I hope this was helpful.

Oil dip stick handle for Ford Focus ZX3 broke off. Rest of the dip stick still in the tube. How do I retrieve the remaining portion of the oil pan dip stick?

Drill small hole in what's left inside the tube - insert bolt extractor - pull out dip stick. Material is relatively soft so drilling is easy. Buy new dip stick.

How to check transmission fluid and fill if nessesary.

if it is an automatic transmission, the dip stick is under the hood and should be on the drivers side of the engine, start the car leave it in park, pull the dip stick out and wipe it off with a cloth, reinstall the dip stick in the filler tube completely, and remove again and notice where the fluid level is on the dip stick,if you need to add fluid to bring it up to full, the correct fluid for your car is printed on the dip stick, you need a transmission funnel and put in in the tube you pulled the dip stick out of.
if you transmission is a standard, there is a 5/8 bolt on the side of the transmission you remove and put something like a screw driver in the hole to see where the fluid level is,.

Where do I add tranmission fluid

There is a rubber plug that is actually the dip stick. You can check out you fluid level but you have to crawl under the truck and remove the plug and there is your dip stick it is only a couple of inches long. user_offline.gif quote.gif
