Question about 2007 Toyota Corolla CE

1 Answer

How do I reset the ECU on my 2007 Corolla CE?

I had to disconnect the battery in order to remove the fuel pump and replace the sending unit. The car idled just fine before I did that. Now, the engine idles (roughly) at around 500rpm. I took the car out on the road and did some starts, stops, and slow downs of varying intensity. But, the problem still persists. Will this go away on its own, or is there a procedure for resetting the ECU that I'm not aware of. Thank you. Mark B Handler

How would I go about removing my fuelpump on a 2004 cadillac deville, in order to replace it with a new pump.

Take all the stuff out of your trunk. Remove the trunk carpeting. You will see the access cover for the fuel pump just behind the rear seat area. Remove the access cover. Disconnect the fuel sending unit electrical connectors remove the fuel line disconnects. Remove the fuel sending unit lock ring.

NOTE: The fuel sender assembly will pop up quickly when the lock ring is removed.

Use a towel or rags to catch the fuel as the sending unit is lifted out of the fuel tank.

Reverse proceedure to install the new unit.

How to install fuel filter&pump

  • De-pressurize the Camry's fuel system. With the gas cap open (to release pressure in that location), open the fuse/relay panel under the hood and remove the relay labeled "C/OPN." Start the engine and let it run until it stops. Disconnect the battery's negative cable.

  • Detach the rear seat from the car. Lift up the front edge of the seat bottom cushion, disconnect the mounting bolt underneath and remove the cushion. Pull up the seat back locks, flip the seat backs down and remove the mounting bolts.

  • Remove the service hole cover from the floor under the seat concealing the fuel pump/sending unit.

  • Disconnect the fuel line and electrical connectors from the fuel pump unit. Remove the retaining bolts and withdraw the unit carefully out of the fuel tank.

  • Release the clips on the fuel pump assembly's plastic support with a screwdriver to remove the support. Then pull off the rubber isolator, remove the fuel sock filter and disconnect the electrical connector from the top of the assembly. You can now withdraw the fuel pump from the housing.

  • Connect the new fuel pump into place on the assembly housing. Reassemble the fuel pump/sending unit in order, from the electrical connector to the fuel sock filter, rubber isolator and bottom plastic support.

  • Place the pump unit back within the fuel tank and reattach the bolts. Reconnect the electrical connectors and the fuel line. Reattach the rear seats.

  • Replace the "C/OPN" relay, reconnect the negative battery cable and fill the fuel tank if it is empty.

  • Pressurize the Camry's fuel system by turning the ignition on for a couple of seconds. Then turn it off for ten and repeat this five to ten times.

How do you replace a GMC Yukon Denali fuel pump? And where is it located on the Denali?

    Fuel Pump
    Removal & Installation
    To Remove:

    1. Remove the fuel tank.
    2. Disconnect the fuel lines.
    3. Using the J 45722 or equivalent, remove the sending unit lock ring.

    4. Remove the sending unit and seal.
    5. Discard the seal.
Drain the fuel from the fuel sender assembly
into an approved container in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal
injury. Never store the fuel in an open container.

    6. Clean sealing surfaces.

    To Install:

In order to reduce the risk of fire and
personal injury that may result from a fuel leak, always replace the fuel sender
gasket when reinstalling the fuel sender assembly.

    1. Install a NEW seal.
The fuel pump strainer must be in a
horizontal position when the sending unit is installed in the tank. When
installing the sending unit, assure that the fuel pump strainer does not block
full travel of the float arm.

    2. Install the sending unit into the fuel tank.
    3. Using J 45722 or equivalent, install the sending unit lock ring.
    4. Connect the fuel lines to the sending unit.
