code po551 refers to power steering pressure(PSP) sensor/ switch--range /performance problem===causes --PS system--PSP sensor/switch
Have the power steering pressure checked as it may be a pump problem or just the sensor/switch.. Check the reservoir level as it may be lacking fluid.

Power steering preo sensor circuit range/performance FOR A 2000 neon

Here is the description for the code. You need to check the sensor and the wiring back to the computer.

P0551 DODGE Description Power steering pressure (PSP) sensor is installed to the power steering high-pressure tube and detects a power steering load. This sensor is a potentiometer which transforms the power steering load into output voltage, and emits the voltage signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM controls the electric throttle control actuator and adjusts the throttle valve opening angle to increase the engine speed and adjusts the idle speed for the increased load.

My toyota is reving up and down .i take the lines off the power steiring and it stops what could b the problem

I am not familar with Toyotas, but I have had vehicles that have a pressure sensor on the power steering circuit. This sensor allows the computer to reset the idle up when pressure rises. This allows for the engine to compensate for extra load on the engine at idle when you start to turn the steering wheel. Therefore, this could be a bad pressure sensor, the idle control solenoid, or excessive pressure in the power steering. You might be able to just disconnect the pressure switch to see if the problem goes away.

Where is the power steering sensor located on the 99 rodeo?

There is no power steering "sensor". There is a power steering pressure "switch". If this is what you are looking for, it is located on the power steering pump.

I have power steering fluid leaking from the sensor's plug-in to the power steering pump. Where the 2 wires connect into the housing. Is it the pressure sensor? If so, how do I fix it?

TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE SWITCH.REMOVE SIPHON OUT POWER STEERING FLUID BELOW THE PRESSURE SWITCH.UNSCREW THE OLD PRESSURE SWITCH AND SCREW IN THE NEW POWER STEERING PRESSURE SWITCH.MAKE PRESSURE SWITCH HAS THREAD SEALER ON IT.IF NEW PRESSURE SWITCH THREADS ALREADY HAVE SEALER ON THE THREAD DONT NEED TO USE TEFLON TAPE TO SEAL THE THREADS.BLEED POWER STEERING SYSTEM.

The power steering pressure sensor tells the computer when the power steering is being used. The sensor has probably gone bad and is sending incorrect info to the computer. The sensor is usually on or around the power steering pump or steering box.

The power steering pressure switch is mounted in the pressure line between the steering gear and the steering pump.
Just follow the line from the pump and you'll find it.
Good luck

Where is the power steering sensor located on a 1993 ford ranger 4.0 super cab? (or is it called the power steering pressure switch?)

The power steering pressure switch as its called threads in to the power steering pressure hose most of the time it is close to the power steering pump, I have also seen them at the lower point of the pressure hose close to the rack and pinion.
