Astro van is actually different has a bigger bolt pattern and believe it is longer older firebird and camaro with the leaf springs s-10 p/u or gmc s-15 but being 4x4 you need to have same gear ratio 4:11 front you need a 4:11 rear or 3:73 to 3:73 ect if not things will break driveshafts or pinions unless you don't plan on using 4x4 option

SOURCE: 81 chevy 308 rear end gear problems

the carrier should turn easily and not stick. you may want to try reversing the shims that are on the outside of the bearing races on the ends of the carrier. If that doesn't work you will need to get some other shims to try.......you can also grind the shim down a bit to get it the right size (if you got the parts used you are best off to keep the shims with the ring gear they were originally installed with.)
If you have any more probs or need more help post a comment here and i will get back to you. Good Luck!

SOURCE: 1996 chevy blazer tire size

stock is generally the 235/75r15, but if you can find someone to install them or do it yourself easily be able to run 31x10r15 for a little meatier look, this would involve a slight trim of the front skirt edge on some models or depending on your suspension. Any tire shop would easily be able to tell you stock tires or what would fit, but most major retailers (walmart, fleetfarm) will not install ANY tire not listed as factory. so you would have to find a private shop then.

No your ignition is a different lock but it could be keyed the same by a locksmith or possibly one could be ordered to match it from the factory based on your vehicle identification number.

My 1996 camaro z-28 need the rear end replaced, so were is the id tag, that gives me the correct rearend , in hte car and should I pull out the complete rear end and have it rebuiled, and then reinstalled...

If you take the VIN # to a GM dealer they should be able to tell you the original rear end that the vehicle came with. If you are going to take the rear end to a shop they will be able to tell when they take it apart. If it is a posi rear end it will have a tag under one af the cover bolts (if it has not been removed) Once inside a posi rear end is immediately identifiable from the clutch pack. Also the number of teeth is stamped on each (pinion and ring) gear. Divide ring gear # by Pinion gear # to get rear end ratio. Didn't get directly to your question, but I hope this helps. Let me know. Thanks

Where is the dipstick on my 1996 Chevy Blazer?

if its the transmission dipstick you are looking for. Its on the passenger side of the engine at the rear of the engine compartment.........on a 96 it should be red and flip up and then pull it out to remove it.........as for filling you need a funnel with a very small hole at the end and the fluid goes in the hole the dipstick comes out of...........sorry no diagram though.....:(
hope this helps!
