Double check the fuse make sure it's good since you replaced the relay i would use a meter to check for voltage if you have power to the plug try directly hooking up power to fan from the battery (BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS IF YOUR NOT COMFORTABLE TAKE IT TO A SHOP) if it doesn't spin your fan is bad replace it. Good luck

SOURCE: cooling fans do not work.Replaced relay. Turn ac

Keep in mind that if the fan doesn't run with the engine running and the A/C its ON position, bad fan or sensor or relay. Then, its possible that you have any problem with the Air Conditioning Thermostatic Expansion Valve Replacement, not wth the fans relay or motor.

The service procedure for replacing the expansion valve on the Corvette is outlined below. This procedure is more detailed and supercedes the one listed on page of the Chassis Service Manual.

1. Purge system of refrigerent.
2. Drain cooling system and remove radiator supply tank.
3. Disconnect heater hoses from heater core.
4. Disconnect power element bulb.
5. Remove expansion valve hold down strap.
6. Remove equalizer line from suction throttling valve.
7. Disconnect expansion valve inlet and outlet connections and remove valve.
8. Install new thermostatic expansion valve by reversing removal procedure.
9. Evacuate and charge system.

Test it and tell us news.

Cooling fans won't turn on. I replaced coolent

You need a wiring diagram

That would tell you what you did,as
you know what terminals you jumped

Then you look over the rest of the circuit
to continue

Your lucky you didn't short something out

Why won't the fan motor shut off on my 1991 acura legend?

Hey chandralebea,

Try first by replacing the cooling fan engine temp sensor switch, as this may be the cause.

Good Luck

Coolant fan isnt working on my 93 cavalier rs

You need to get a 12v test light for this sort of thing, otherwise you will waste a lot of money replacing good parts. If you already replaced the motor, the next logical thing to try would be the relay.(you can swap the cooling fan relay with one of the others in the relay center instead of buying another-just make sure you mark it before you move it).Try trading it with the fuel pump relay. If the relay is defective, the car won't start. If it isn't the relay, the relay socket is an excellent place to test everything in the circuit with the test light.

Cooling fans won't turn on. I replaced temp sensor, fan relay, and thermostat. I jumper across the relay and both fan's came on by doing that,I don't know what else to test ? any Idea's...

On the relay you should have 12 volts at 2 slots terminal 30 has power all the time terminal 86 has power when then computer tells the relay to turn on fan, for cooling or a/c, terminal 85 is ground(-) for the 86 terminal to energize the relay to send 12volt from terminal 30 thru relay and out terminal 87 going to fans, sounds to me like computer not getting the signal to relay, you did get for blow fuse? and does fans come on with a/c on?

We have benz s500 2006. looking for coolan fan relay .how we do fit coolant fan relay.and where it is lookated in fuse box.

First of all, I don't mean to be a pain, but why are you wanting to "fit" the relay? If you don't know where it is, you could not possibly have tested it. If you have not tested it, then you cannot know with any certainty that replacing the relay will fix whatever problem you are trying to repair. There are a lot of other possible causes if you are trying to fix a cooling fan that won't work.

Please take a few moments to read this article: What Else Could Be Wrong?

With all that said, The relay that controlls your fan motor is the "Circuit 15 Relay". It is located in the Driver's Side SAM Module. It is marked "N" in the picture below.

Overheats if left idling but not if driving...cooling fans aren't coming on...what couls be wrong?

the cooling fans on your car are comanded on by the engine control module which reads engine temperature from the temperature sensor . when comanded on the engine control module sends a signal to the cooling fan relays . which in turn runs the current to the cooling fans . So you might want to check the cooling fan relays and make sure the fues for the cooling fans are good and the relays .if the cooling fan fuses and relays are good it could be a problem with the fan motors or the engine control module not reading the right temperature in that case it could mean you have a problem with the temperature sensor

Radiator fan relay vs cooling fan

This sounds like the cooling fan motor was the real problem, when it does this the motor is partially shorted, this overheats the new fan relay and will burn it out, I think most likely they should have caught this when the fan relay was replaced, now the motor and the relay should be replaced, as the new relay may be damaged. Also make sure the electrical connector to the fan motor is not burnt, if it is then replace it along with the motor.
