SOURCE: 1988 cadillac sadan deville. i have replaced havc programer.

GM products with digital climate control used a temopature sensor module which is located under the hood in the heater box. They are known to fail. It souns like your issue lies there. It is sort of triangular in shape and has a single electrical plug with 7 or so wires in it. (I ran a slvage yard for years and sold a ton of these!) There are a series of #'s like a factory I.D./part # that I used to identify and interchange with. I don't know if there has been a generic replacement released over the years. Hope this helps!

Hey i have a 2000 cadillac deville dts and i just cant get it to idle smoothly. i cant figure out what it says i need oxygen sensors you thaink thats why when i first crank it up it shuts right off?...

The oxygen sensor on the exhaust could be one. You will know where it is when you trace a cable down to the pipes of the exhaust. It could also be the air flow meter found at the intake. Make sure that there are no tears on the hose that leads from the air filter to the intake manifold. The wires may have come of on the sensor at the intake or a bad sensor.

1988 cadillac sadan deville. i have replaced havc programer, climate control head, thermostat, back flushed heater core.still geting only cold air from heater and only at the floor vents, will not switch...

the vents that receive the blowing air is of course provided by the blower motor. The duct work the blown air goes through has doors that open & close for the direction you want the heated air to be directed to. A motor runs these doors so you may have a bad motor to the main door

1992 Cadillac Deville Sedan

i have two codes on my 92 cadillac sadan deville that read e 12 and e 96. i understand what they both mean. e12 is 'no distributor signal', and the other e 96 is 'torque convertor is overstrewsed'. i know that the toruque convertor is a big project itself, so im goin to send that into the professionals. but i might be able to fix the distributor, if it is the cap, or a false ground wire which hopefully it is. there is about 170,000 mi, and have gone threw alot of parts that i installed myself, but im not goin to let her go yet she still got alot of miles to go. i just need help on checking out the distributor cap for replacement.
