07 cx7 (smartkey) Immobilizer icon flashes 5 times..2 second pause..after 5 seconds repeats. This is with the backup key in the IGN. in the ACC position. Car won't start

Fcuk I got same problem with my Mazda 3 year 2004. Noone can help me at all !!! Even in Mazda they have no idea where is problem. For me it is at the moment only in cold weather. I cannot get throught immobilizer. After few turns it works, but not always (only when its bit warmer). I found out that if it is warmer, and I turn on ventilation for a while after it will let me go! Immobilizer starts flashing ... after few more minutes and turning key few times it will let me go !!! Please write me to tomaupair@hotmail.com if you will know updates... I am desperate , cannot use my car in winter at all or cold weather. In summer works fine

Ah, you give many very good clues, all of which point to a problem with the fuel pump.
The cold/wet scenario - moisture getting into the contacts, possibly on/in the starter or fuel pump,
but the low fuel scenario points to the fuel pump. The fuel pump must work a little harder to pump
fuel when the level is low - it works harder to pressurize the fuel rail, and harder to supply fuel for
starting. A fuel pump that's starting to think about failing will struggle under these conditions.

1. Attempt to start the truck by turning the key to the Start/Run position. The passlock icon may be illuminated or flashing. Try to crank the vehicle.

2. Release key to the ON/RUN position (not the ACC position or OFF)

3. Allow the vehicle to sit with key in the ON/RUN position until the passlock security icon turns off. This could take as long as 12 minutes

4. When the light goes off, turn key to OFF position and keep the key in the OFF position for no less than 30 seconds.

5. Go to #1 and repeat for four cycles or until vehicle starts.

1. Close and lock all doors with the driver's side power lock / unlock switch located
on drivers door panel.

2. Insert key into ignition and remove it from the ignition key cylinder at least 6 times
within 10 seconds. Your hazard lamps will flash if you have performed this step
successfully. NOTE: Withdraw key completely from ignition cylinder each time. If
this procedure is performed to fast, system will not enter programming mode.

3. Insert key into ignition and turn to the ACC position.

4. Within 5 seconds, push ANY button oon the keyless remote. Your hazard lamps
will flash. NOTE: Do not press the button on the remote more than one time or the
programming will not be successful.

5. If there are any remaining remotes (including old ones), Unlock then Lock all doors
using switch on drivers door panel and within 5 seconds press ANY button on the next
remote. Your hazard lamps will flash. Repeat this step for each remote (including any
existing remotes).

6. Turn key to the off position, remove key from the ignition. Unlock door using switch on
door panel and open drivers door.

7. Test remote(s).

AUTOMATIC LOCK SETTING
1) Step in the vehicle and make sure that all doors are closed completely
2) Insert the key into the ignition key cylinder.
3) Wait for more than 5 seconds.
4) After turning the key to the ACC position, turn the key from the ACC to the
ON position 5 times within 10 seconds (Last position : ON).
? Status Monitor LED will illuminate for 30 seconds.
Note : In case you implement 6 times or more by mistake,
action steps 6)-8) you made will be canceled.
Please retry from step 2).
5) While the LED is illuminated :
• Open and close the driver's door 2 times.
• Turn the key to the ACC position.
? LED will continue illuminating.
? Indicator lights will flash 2 times.
Ignition controlled door lock ON :
6) While the LED is illuminated:
• Open and close the driver's door 1 time.
• Turn the key ACC-ON-ACC 1 time (Last position : ACC).

After replacing my battery, I am unable to start the car without hitting the alarm reset under the dash. A mechanic told me to turn the key up to crank, quicfkly 5 times to reset. That did not work.


PLACE THE PROGRAMMED KEY IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. FOR THE FIRST KEY. TURN IGNITION SWITCH ON AND WAIT 3 SECONDS RETURN TO OFF POSITION AND REMOVE KEY. FIRST AND SECOND PROGRAMMED KEY OPERATIONS MUST BE PERFORMED WITH IN 15 SECONDS. INSERT SECOND PROGRAMMED KEY AND SWITCH IGNITION ON. WAIT APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS. Switch ignition ON and OFF within 15 seconds. Using second programmed key, proceed as follows: Switch ignition ON and OFF within 15 seconds. Within 10 seconds: Immobilizer LED flashes. Programming mode activated (acoustic signal will be heard). Proceed as follows: Within 50 seconds: Insert first key to be programmed into ignition switch. Switch ignition ON and OFF. Within 10 seconds: Single acoustic signal will be heard and immobilizer LED stops flashing and illuminates for 3 seconds to indicate correct programming. Repeat complete procedure to program remaining keys. Keys can also be programmed using diagnostic equipment.
NOTE: A maximum of 8 keys can be programmed.

Have it checked by a professional as soon as possible, airbag has a problem wich can be as simple as a short in the wiring or as harmful as the possibility of deploying airbags without any warning. Please take advice.

How do i get the trouble codes off a 1989 mazda mpv?

The above link is to a diagram of your ALDL connector, all you need is a paper clip, straighten out the paper clip and insert one end into the diagnostic test pin and one in the system ground pin (terminals A & B).

Then put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position but DO NOT start the engine. You will then see the check engine light flash. It will initially start by flashing once, then a pause and then flash twice and it will repeat this three times. That flash sequence indicates 12, which just means the system is operating. Its the flash sequences after that that will give you the code if any are stored.

For instance if it flashes twice, then pauses, then flashes four times, thats code 24. So any flash sequence you get after the initial 12 (flash once, pause, flash twice) you need write those down. Below is a list of diagnostic codes to tell you what the codes mean.

Code 12
1 flash, pause, 2 flashes
Diagnostic: This Code will flash whenever the diagnostic terminal is grounded with the ignition switch turned on and the engine is not running.

Code 13
1 flash, pause 3 flashes
Oxygen sensor voltage stays between 0.35 and 0.55 volts for 30 seconds when the TPS signal was above 0.55 volts. The engine had been running for at least 40 seconds with an engine temperature above 110° F.

Code 14
1 flash, pause, 4 flashes
Coolant temperature sensor signal indicates a temperature of over 284° F for 4 seconds after the engine had been running for at least 10 secondsCoolant Sensor Circuit (high temperature) If the engine is experiencing overheating problems, have those fixed before continuing. Check all wiring and connectors associated with the coolant temperature sensor. Replace the Coolant temperature sensor.

Vehicle speed sensor signal showed less than 3 MPH for 2 seconds when engine speed was greater than 3000 RPM and transmission has not been in park or neutral for more than 4 seconds. This code can only appear when the vehicle is in motion, if it appears when the car is not in motion, ignore it. Check ECM connections, any other problems should be diagnosed by a qualified mechanic.

Inlet air temperature sensor signal showed an air temperature of over 218° F for 5 seconds when vehicle speed was greater than 35 MPH. Check the voltage between the MAT sensor and the ECM. voltage should be above 4 volts.

There was no MAF signal for over 4 seconds while engine was running. Check for loose or damaged air duct, misadjusted minimum idle speed and cacuum leaks. Inspect the MAF sensor and the electrical connections.

The Torque Converter Clutch portion of the brake switch was open and caused the TCC to be inoperative, adjust OR replace switch.
