Check the viscosity of the oil you are using and move up to 30w -50 for the ambient temperature
Mazda engines use a shaft to support the rocker arms and these are prone to wearing out on the under side of the rockers
I would suggest that you have an accredited service shop with experience on you car to check the play in the rocker arms / bushes and shaftys.

1991 mazda miata mx5 1.6L. Can I simply loosen timing belt, and remove the cam(s) with the gears still attached to access the lifters? (for cleaning and/or replacement)

That is a tricky question! Some engines use BOTH ENDS of camshafts for certain things! Are the lifters above the valves? If so, and you pick up the cam(s), the valve lifters could (1) fall out, or (2) fall apart! You DON'T want to mix parts up like that! But what you CAN do, is loosen the cams, then put a piece of black plastic electrical tape around each valve lifter, so they cannot fall out, nor fall apart when you lift a cam out!

It probably needs lifter treatment, ad it to the engine oil.

Wrong oil. Check the engine temp and thermo. Make sure oil is compatible with service. eg. your driving style and the weather. Castrol is pretty good oil. I used it in air cooled motocycle engine to solve shifting problem in hot weather. All lifters do not get the same cooling. That one is prob running a bit warm. good luck with that.

Ticking noise from engine on 1997 kia sportage

Sounds like your problem might be bad lifter or bad rocker arm spring. Either way you'll probably have to remove the valve cover to check both. You might also go to a parts place and purchase an oil additive to see if it might help free up the lifter...if thats what it is.

I have and 07 Miata PRHT that has a lifter noise under mild acceleration but not all the time. It has 71000 miles. I run 5w20 synthetic oil. Can you give me any suggestions?

Try running a higher grade fuel in it such as 89 or 93 octane. Usually the ticking you here under acceleration is from poor fuel quality

Noisy lifters

Marvel Mytery Oil has always been known to cure sticky lifters. Another old trick is to add a qt. of trans fluid inplace of motor oil next time you top it off. Trans fluid is very high detergent.

How to stop lifter and or vavle noise in car motor?

Generally if it's being caused by wear you can replace what's worn...rocker arm, lifter , cam etc. If noise just began, sometimes an additive like marvel oil will clean out the lifter and make it quiet, but it takes time...It took time to get that way.Lucas additive sometimes also works for that. But, as I said, if it's from wear you need to replace the worn parts.
