I have 1985 ford full size bronco changed the wiper switch it has a delay wipers still only work on fast is it the wiper motor that is bad the wiper motor gets wet alot

you need to check the wiring from the switch to the motor with a test light and make sure its switching form the column to the motor ok. you should have a permeant 12v from the battery a permanent earth and then probably 3 more wires, a return signal from the motor to the wiper delay module that tells it when to park and your 2 speed switches from the column- one for normal speed that will go live on first speed and one for fast speed that will go live on second speed- if you have a different number of wires let me know and I should be able to tell you how to test them.

My 1998 Mitsubishi montero sport won't start. battery good lights and radio come on, but Engine won't crank....I thought it was the alarm but still won't start...plz help ASAP!!!!

most common problems would be: 1. starter motor is bad, 2. if an automatic, then park sensor switch is bad. try starting in neutral, if you can then it is the park sensor(tells computer that the transmission is in park). if starter motor, you might here a click but not always. 3, could be the ignition switch itself . good luck

Center vents operate onky on igh and defroster and foot well flaps inop

that is a statement in fact but what is the question.
DIY or what? who to diagnose cars, or just want a wild guess.?
bad HVAC, heating and air conditioning system.
Those are damper controls.
and they are failing,.and on all cars the answers is the same.
the FSM covers this, got one(factory service manual, 2001 LC)
Thius car came with front and rear HVAC systems
ill guess front unit.
one of the most complex on earth (cars) RTM and see,!

1: controls not sending damper commands right.
be it (vacuum , cable or electric)
2: commands not reaching dampers.
3: stuck damper, or damper bad, bad sevor, or damper motor.
or if cable the cable fell off.
some cars use all 3 damper types. Vac, cable, electric motors.

get it serviced, or get the FSM and read the HVAC chapter.
all answers USA, nobody has ever said here, what country and
cars do vary greatly by country , big time.
so.... ill look the USA online page, for this car,
ok back ....
its has 3 damper motors , all electric and expensive and hard to test
in the TOy dealer they can SCAN it and cycle parts by hand,.
that tells them what is bad.
in the FSM, it may show how to test the motors with out a scan tool.
Many dont.
each motor , (unit) works different in each car, so there is no way
tell you a test. by hand.
on my car the FSM has bench tests. or the motors.
here is your system.
the 3 red X are the motors.
the center is the brain.
making my 3 step tests, true. above.
bad input to controller
bad controller (nah)
bad damper. or its stuck.

can only be 3 things, bad motor, bad spark and bad fueling, in that order.
and 3 tools to check each, in that order.
ever do the 60k tuneup, (I have 4 of these cars restored and 3 sold)

my guess is fuel pressure good means it passes the squirt test
right? this is no carb, EFI needs 30psi, and squirt tests tell you near nothing.
Ponder this. if the motor had 170psi compression
and the spark was good, (it will be tuned up)
and is timed, right. is it?
then it will run perfect on test fuel. does it.?
if yes , then you have fueling problem , once this is proven, we work fueling hard.

The fan on my 96 oldsmobile 88 will not turn why?

Barring the simple blown fuse every time my fan has quit working on all my cars it was one of the following. 1 the bearings went bad in the fan and the fan became sticky. you can tell this by rapping on the fan motor itself while it is turned on, if it starts then it is sticky and doesnt have long to live. 2 the motor burned out completely you can tell this by applying 12v from the battery directly to the motors contacts in the proper polarity + to + - to - . If you are not sure how to apply power to a motor to test it you might want to have someone that knows how do it for you. if it doesn't run pretty good sign the motors dead. 3 there is a fault in the wiring and you would use the test for #2 to determine the motor is still good then start checking the wiring and switches. I usually check in the following order, glance at the led embedded in the AC switch on the AC console to make sure the unit has power , rap on the fan housing because its out in the open on the firewall under the hood and im lazy, check the fuses just for the heck of it even though the AC unit LOOKED powered, curse a bit, apply power to the motor to test it. I have only had 1 car with mysterious bad intermittent AC wiring and 1 car with a bad switch the rest were all motors that went bad.

Power window

Here is an easy way to tell if the motor is the problem or the switch, turn on the ignition and the interior lights, push the window switch to raise direction and watch dome light, if it dims slightly the motor is bad, if not the switch, since it is stuck down it is most often the motor brushes are dirty, you will need to pull the door panel drill a minimum 3/8" holes in dimples (3) of door sheet metal to access the 3 bolts that hold the motor to the window regulator.
