The problem is in the PATS system keys must be coded to the specific vehicle, What part did you replace. All this must be re-programed

Why no crank, no start?

I would check out the VSS - vehicle speed sensor for being shorted internally. This sensor get's a five volt ref. from the PCM or TCM which ever your vehicle has . Disconnect the VSS sensor connector an see if the vehicle starts . If the sensor is shorted it will bring down the data communication bus causing a no crank , no start on some make vehicles ! When you turn the key to the run position does the check engine light come on an then go off after a few seconds ?

I have a 2001 oldsmobile sihouette I disconnected negative battery post for ten min then put back then I parked van now when I go to start it securety lock is on and I can't start car and it reads cal...

you have to do that cycle 3 times, battery needs to fully charged.
Hood to stay closed, doors also(roll down the drivers window)
Kill the DRL headlights if possible(try putting the E-brake on)
Crank and leave key on,10 min or till light goes out, then key off,,no need to wait 5 min here, crank again.leave key on,,,,,3 times.
By the way, disconnecting the battery in that vehicle will not do anything like clear codes or memory, may need the radio code in the owners manual also.

When I turn the key nothing happens. No clicks, no crank. All of the lights work properly. No dimming or turning off when I try to start. This has happened a few times before. The first time I put the car...

Ignition switch....the electrical ignition switch. To verify, find the thick white wire in the harness coming from the switch and do two things; first, check for power at this wire, when you switch the key position to start. If nothing, power the wire momentarily with the key in the run position, and your car should start.

My Honda Odyssey won't crank

It could be the starter, or the neutral safety switch in addition to the security module.
Have you checked the starter for power, and can you jumper the solenoid to make it crank ?

2007 hhr will ONLY start on 5th crank. key fob broken

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

I have a 2000 dodge durango that wont start. I changed the crank shaft senser and the cam shaft position senser and the cap and rotor button but still wont start

Have you checked for your DTC code?? The code may help you address the issue that is keeping your engine from starting.

ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS

1. Cycle the ignition key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON within 5 seconds. To cycle the ignition key ON means to turn it only as far as it takes to get the radio to come on. It does not mean to turn the engine on.

2. Count the number of times the "check engine" lamp on the instrument panel flashes on and off. The number of flashes represents the code. There is a slight pause between the flashes representing the first and second digits of the code. Longer pauses separate individual codes. For example, flash-flash-flash [pause] flash-flash represents the code 32.

A code of "55" represents end of error codes. If this is all you get then no error codes are stored in the computer. This is the normal condition for a neon.
CODE Description of Trouble Code
11 Timing belt skipped 1 tooth or more from initial learned value, Intermittent loss of either camshaft or crankshaft position sensor, No crank reference signal detected during engine cranking
12 Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles
13 No change in MAP from start to run
14 MAP sensor voltage too low
15 No vehicle speed sensor signal
17 Closed loop temp not reached or engine cold too long
21 02s sensor problem (oxygen sensor), upstream or down stream
22 Engine coolant temp sensor out of range

43 Multiple/ single cylinder misfire
44 Battery temp sensor volts out of range
46 Charging system voltage too low
51 Fuel system lean

98 ford explorer cranks but won't run.

it means that the key(s) needs to be recoded to the car, when you did the wheel you wiped the codes out.....the transponders are in the keys.
the car thinks its not you/your keys.

02 vw euro, 60k miles, intermitent no power to ignition switch. This symptom has only occured 6 or 8 times. Turn key...lights come on, no noise, no click, no crank, nothing....first occured. 2 months...

Sounds like it may be related to the 'neutral safety switch'. When you turn the key to start the engine, current goes from the ignition switch through the neutral safety switch to the starter relay, then on to the starter. Some cars have a shift linkage adjustment to make sure the trans is fully into park; mal-adjustment could cause what you describe. Anyway, start diagnosis at neutral switch and proceed to starter relay. Don't forget to check starter power feed wiring for loose/corroded connections. I've seen many cars exhibit this condition after being driven in heavy rain, etc., and in most cases, the battery wire on the starter, or the ignition trigger connection had become corroded enough that contact was lost, sometimes intermittently. It is important when checking these to actually disconnect these wires and look for corrosion, etc. especially the spade terminal for the trigger wire(be sure to disconnect battery before using tools on the starter battery wire)

Car will not crank sometimes unless you turn the key many times.

Check battery connections. Sometimes a weak connection will fail under very high loads like starting.
