Doesn't have pass lock anti-theft system .What's missing spark or fuel ? May have some other form of anti - theft system . Your best bet take it to a specialty shop that does Jags
The security light is for anti-theft system ,when the light is on or flashing ,it think's the vehicle is being stolen . It will disable the fuel system ( fuel injectors ) so it won't start ! Does your key have a pellet on the side of the key ? Trying to find out which anti-theft system yours has . If it does have a little black pellet on the side of the part that goes into the ignition lock cylinder , That pellet is a resistor an when you fit into the the lock cylinder there are two contacts inside the lock that read the resistance . There is a module that then can say if it's the right resistance or not , allowing or not to let the fuel injectors fire. The problem with this anti-theft system the contacts and or the wires break ! This is the VAT'S - vehicle anti -theft system or they have pass lock - pass key 1 , 2 , 3 . On the vats system a by-pass can be done . On you tube there are videos showing how to do it .
Pretty much wht the guy said about the key the key tell everything to cut on ill hook up a diagnostic to pinpoint problem at autozone for free..if u can get it up there..to test spray gas in throttlebody or carb to see what it does also u can get a card board and take filter off and place in front of tbrottle body make it suck card board it might suck the trash out b thats stuck b if thats the issue..cardboard or a piece of tin somthing hard and flat
You can't just disconnect the anti-theft system ! . If the modules on the vehicle don't receive a coded response form the anti-theft system the vehicle will not work , no start ! This coded response is send on the class 2 serial data communication bus to the PCM - engine computer , if it doesn't see it the fuel system , fuel injectors won't be turned on ! an in some cases the engine won't even crank over !
I have read of a way to by pass the system ! If you google GM vats an pass key by pass , you will see how to do it . Don't know if this works or not ! Haven't tried it !
Common issue with is car is malfunctioning of the "anti-theft/security system". If your security system is ok>>>>> Check fuel pressure, if poor....check power to fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel pressure regulator, if ok...Check MAP/MAF sensor.
Hello! When you say does not start; Does the starter motor crank?...If the starter motor cranks the engine the anti-theft is clear...If such is the case, lets eliminate the Inertia Fuel Shut-off Switch...The inertia fuel shutoff switch
is located on the LH side lower back panel in the luggage compartment and is manually reset...To reset the inertia fuel shutoff switch; press button on top...Send a comment...Guru...saailer
hey, i ha d the same problem, turn the key on and let the anti theft light blink till it stops blinking about ten min. then start the car the computer has to re-learn. the pass-key anti theft shuts down the fuel pump and ignition . after i did this i have not had a problem since, i hope this helps
if the vehicle starts then stops and the anti-theft light is flahing you may need to re-set the pass-key system to do this you will need to atempt to start the vehicle and when it stalls leave the key in that position and watch the anti-theft light. it should flash on and off for about 5 to 10 minutes. when it stops flahing turn the ignition to off then try to restart your vehicle
