Check Transmission fluid level. If ok, Something broke, but if no fluid, no go. you may have a line broken and lost all the fluid in a very short time.

a bug had nothing to do with your issue, come on now. the transmission was probably slipping as mine was and i let the problem go until the last minute til it just stopped pulling then i was out of 1,235.00. So it's time to pay the dues or get another car

I have 2007 ford explorer v6 and i have problems whit my transmission the car dont'n move but i never ws problems

I don't have a solution for you, but I will tell you that Ford Explorers are known to have transmission issues, there are lots of websites that you can just google and find how widespread the issues are. It's sad. I had problems with my car going into gear from park and they replaced the gear shift lever. It works, but now...3 weeks later I am having problems with my ignition switch/key wont' turn. I think they two are related! :(

I would check fluid condition and level. Wouldn't hurt to try and get it flushed and a no slip type additive added aswell . Lucas Oil products make a good one. However Ford transmissions in explorers are pretty common for failure.

Ford explorers speedometer just stopped working. everything else is working fine what could cause this

If your speedometer stopped working try replacing the vehicle speed sensor (VSS). This is a fairly easy task and found on the underside of the drivers side compartment near the transmission housing. It has one small retaining nut and a plug-in two wire connection. Spread the clip, pull the connection apart then pull old sensor out. Put a small bit of transmission fluid around the O ring (new). Install in reverse order. Part cost about $18.00. If that dosen't do it then the plastic gear inside the sensor housing may be worn. Hope this helps you.
