Is this a test question? If you really want to know, I recommend you read about the theory of emission control systems.
Otherwise, it measures the amount of oxygen still left in the exhaust. If the amount is too low, it will reduse the amount of fuel to the engine.

SOURCE: 2002 honda crv air filter change

Hi!

Can you specify if you are referring to the engine intake air filter or the cabin air filter?
If you are referencing the cabin air filter, the attached youtube video should help.

I originally created the video for the Odyssey, but found out after looking at my dad's CRV that it is essentially the same procedure as the Odyssey, and have also noticed that the same stands true for most Honda vehicles built between 2005 and 2009.

Happy motoring!

What is code 1159 pointing at, is it the first oxygen sensor or the second oxygen sensor on a 2003 honda crv?

The Air/Fuel Ratio (A/F) sensor 1 is installed in the exhaust system and detects oxygen content in the exhaust gas. The A/F sensor transmits output voltage to the Engine Control Module (ECM). A heater for the sensor element is embedded in the A/F sensor (sensor 1). That would be the first sensor.

On the 2004 honda crv along with code 1259vtec, l also have code 0420 which deal with the oxygen. If I upgrade the gas and put in lucas fuel injection cleaner, is it possible to correct the condition

NO--- code p0420 refers to the catalic converter system, bank 1 --efficiency below threshold===causes --cat converter, wiring-HO2S sensor 2
code p1159 refers to heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) -front circuit low voltage positive terminal===causes--wiring--HO2S--ECM programming---ECm

In both codes the heated oxygen sensor is mentioned so I would have it replaced before I spent money on a cat converter.

How to fix 2000 honda crv p0135

P0135 is a code for the 1st oxygen sensor heater circuit. Common failure, replace the sensor. Get it from Honda or get a Denso sensor from Advance Auto Parts.

2002 Honda CRV backfired with loose rolling pipe like noise.

muffler explosion
#1 reason , EFI running rich as a pig (CEL glowing and warning)
and exhaust cracks, (adds air )
air + fuel = muffler explosion and can blow the whole thing to H3LL
pipes blast off. car.

Where is the ELD on honda crv 2008

Hi,

P1289 - Cylinder Head Temp Sensor High Input
The A/F sensor is a planar dual-cell limit current sensor. The sensor element of the A/F sensor is the combination of a Nernst concentration cell (sensor cell) with an oxygen-pump cell, which transports ions. It has a heater in the element.

The sensor is capable of precise measurement a= 1, but also in the lean and rich range. Together with its control electronics, the sensor outputs a clear, continuous signal throughout a wide range (0.7 < a< air).

The exhaust gas components diffuse through the diffusion gap at the electrode of the oxygen pump and Nernst concentration cell, where they are brought to thermodynamic balance.

An electronic circuit controls the pump current through the oxygen-pump cell so that the composition of the exhaust gas in the diffusion gap remains constant at a = 1. Therefore, the A/F sensor is able to indicate air/fuel ratio by this pumping of current. In addition, a heater is integrated in the sensor to ensure the required operating temperature of 700 - 800?C (1,292 - 1,472?F).

The response (from LEAN to RICH) of the A/F (Bank 1) signal computed by ECM from A/F sensor 1 signal takes more than the specified time.

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)

Possible causes
# Harness or connectors (The A/F sensor 1 circuit is open or shorted.)
# Air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor 1
# Air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor 1 heater
# Fuel pressure
# Fuel injector
# Intake air leaks
# Exhaust gas leaks
# PCV
# Mass air flow sensor

Thank you.

WHERE DOES THE KNOCK SENSOR, AND OXYGEN SENSOR GO?

The knock sensor is located on the side of the engine block. And the oxygen sensors are located in the exhaust system. There will be one oxygen sensor (upstream) screwed into either the exhaust manifold or the exhaust pipe before the catalytic converter. The other oxygen sensor (down stream) will be screwed into the exhaust pipe just after the catalytic converter.

Code 1167 - Honda CRV 2002

Check all fuses, then check the wiring of the two 02 sensors on either side of the cat. converter. If the fuses and wiring are fine, it is likely one of the oxygen sensors; one is about $50 and the other is $200 (parts only). Use only Honda recommended parts, not BOSCH.
