I would check all the fuses for power going through them and use a test light to make sure fuse holder connections arent corroded. Then test power and ground at trim motor if you have power and ground to motor tap it with a hammer ( tap not smash )

We have no power but battery appears full charge cannot raise/lower motor or start motor--any thoughts

Hi Jim:
I'm confused.
Raise or lower motor sounds like a boat outboard leg.
Cars and trucks section???????????
I'm guessing that you first need to confirm that the battery is fully charged.
Just an idea, but boats often have an isolation switch that has to be turned on before power is available to the engine. Follow the positive lead from the battery.
Please reply as a comment to this post so I can try to assist.
Cheers

I have a 95 honda civic ex,wont start.ran fine yesterday,wont start this morning.battery is fully charged,new cap and rotor.would do u think might b my problem

if it wont turn over 1st check the ground s on the car and the battery 1st. your battery can be fully charged and the car will not start even over night this can happen. then look at the starter. Note: if you have over 109K on the car and the timing belt has never been replaced you will need to have this checked as well.

My 88hp Johnson won't tilt up when moving in water unless I am going slow therefore I can't get topend speed what would cause this?

outboard motors some times are designed to not run at speed while tilted as the water pump inlet is above the water line and the engine will over heat and the pump impellor will be destroyed.. With an engine tilted the load from the propeller tends to lift the nose of the boat high and makes it unstable on the water . The best situation is to have the propeller tend to drive the nose down thereby promoting a planeing action that improves economy and speed Once the boat is on the plane you can cut back on the throttle and still maintain the same speed . Moving with the leg tilted should only be used to navigate shallow water at very slow speeds

My spouse had to get out 1996 ford explorer boosted while i was at work,so that evening i tested the battery it had a charge of 12.4 and is about 5 years old so i bought a new battery ,i put the new...

A new battery should have approx 12.62 fully charged
It could be slightly more
If you ever see 13 volts, on an old battery, it is gone

You need a min of 12.5, to do any testing of your vehicle, or you charge it
It should hold 12.5 or more for 3 or 4 weeks, then charge, if you let the truck sit
unused.

hi may i suggest you have alternator output /charging checked also considering age of vehicle ? if origional battery ? have the battery checked for charge storage it may be failing to hold charge which would explain the problem you mention regarding use of h/lights slows starter rotation ?

Boat outboard outdrive power lift only goes 1/3 way up then stops

There is a 'trailer' or some such labeled switch (usually on the side of the throttle) which you need to push in order for the motor to go all the way up. It stops at 1/3 because it thinks it's in the water. If you push that switch with no better result, then a related wire may be broken or disconnected.
