Wont start. blew muffler apart upon trying. changed crank sensor. no help. timing should be fine. any help?

It would have to be running lean to damage the muffler. Lean is an indication of lack of fuel. I would suspect plugged fuel filter or worn out fuel pump

How do I line up the crank and cam timing marks

Usually this requires removing the timing cover, removing the timing gear, and moving the cam back into the correct position, Reassemble.

When i floor my 01 navigator it wont go it makes a popping sound in the throttle body

sounds like the cats are plugged up....remove the o2 sensors and see if it runs better. Mine would idle, but would pop and stumble when the gas was hit. Ran well for a long time but would stumble whwn floored, slowly got so bad couldnt drive it but it idled fine. Pulled the o2 sensors and started it up and all kinds of debris, junk, blew out. Replaced cats and o2 sensors and runs great. cost $2000.00 in parts.If you find that this is your problem, then check to see if the cats came apart and blew chunks into the muffler,,,,can cause a restriction and cook the new cats. Took me a lot of time to get this truck running right, but it sounds like youre dealing with the same issues..I went through the coil packs and chased engine codes for a week. Pull the o2 sensors and see what blows out; and if engine runs better.....hope this helps (spend some time pricing o2 sensors and y pipe with can save some $. good luck!

You say you HAD new coil replaced

So the shop you paid put the problem
in your vehicle?

The other parts don't seem related--unless you
have some reason they were changed

89 K5 Blazer 350 TBI cranks but won't start... the rad hose blew, i fixed it then the next day it bogged and backfired, ran fine cold, but when warmed up it would lose power and stall when trying

Have you checked Google I found this hopefully it's not your timing or it may be flooded but doubtful have you tried spraying starting fluid into the intake while cranking it

99 gmc Safari awd 4.3L when it rains engine cranks wont start no codes found backfired so bad it blew the muffler apart at the seams. has new distributer, upper manifold and new upgraded multiport fuel...

This may be due to a bad coil wire shorting out GM had many problems with these ..There was even a recall for this a long time ago.. The wire would short out on the metal foil on the doghouse and the aluminum a/c line if there was any damage or corrosion to the terminals...A new distributor ...I had an apprentice put one in one time and he thought the rotor was to point to #1 and forgot the dist cap was like a printed circut board and the rotor was no wheres near #1 good luck

First check all wires for any thing loose.
The muffler blowing up leads me to think the engine is so far out of time the PCM cant correct it.

REally you need to get it to a good mechanic.

Jeep GCL Backfires Stalls

Aaron, I had the same problem. It is the most expensive part of course the computer. I replaced everything as well till I replaced it. They are remanufactured and have had problems with them as well. I am on my third one now at 200k miles. Oh and by the way it does not show up on the diagnostic check. Good luck
