How many speed sensor's are there on a 99 Dodge Dakota sport an were are they located

There is an ABS wheel speed sensor located in the rear differential.
If this fails it affects the ABS and may cause your speedometer to read erroneously at speeds under 25-30 mph. There is also a VSS located in automatic transmission housing. Manual trans vehicles don't have this. They use engine rpm to determine speed as there is supposedly no slippage in the manual drive train.

Where is the transmission outputsensor on 2006 malibu

Its not really called an output sensor .Its called a vehicle speed sensor or VSS It in conjunction with 2 other VSS sensors located on the front wheels work together and tell the VCM or PCM how fast the wheels are spining in relation to the transmission final output to the drive shaft.
The one you are asking about is located torward the rear of the transmission called the tail stock

Where do i locate speed sensor? 98 cavalier

Speed sensors are usually located on the differential in RWD cars and on the transaxle (which combines the transmission and differential) in FWD cars. The cavalier is a FWD (front wheel drive) car, so the speed sensor is located on the transaxle.
The exact location in the 98 cavalier is behind the engine toward the passenger side mounted onto the transmission with one nut and it has a plug with 2 wires on it. Can be easily accessed by jacking up the car and removing the passenger side front wheel.

Location of ABS wheel sensor 96 Astro Dayvan 2WD

most sensors are located at the wheel hub, you should see the reluctor gear mounted on the drive axles in the front, you may need to remove the wheel and rotor to get to it! is it all wheel drive or just front wheel drive, if front wheel drive you should follow the wire that goes to each wheel in the rear, if all wheel drive it may only have one sensor in the transphercase to monitor driveline speed.
you really should have some one scan the abs and find out the code/s and diagnose it, just cuase the light comes on doesent mean its the wheel speed sensor, it could be the abs module ect ect..., check the fluid level and make shure its not low and or dirty.
