I'm guessing you don't know how many different springs there are on a vehicle. Some are 1/16 inch wide and 1/2 long, some are six inches wide and 12 to 14 inches long. ranging from 1/32 inch in diameter to 5/8 inch in diameter. Year make model and what your referring to would help.

Testimonial: "OK Randy - was not aware my search was actually posted. This is about peugeot 307SW - 8 years old - and now the shock absorber spring in front wheel (Mac.Person) is broken. I wonder if this is normal - seems to me a little early- does others also see this faulth?. On my 406ST I changed the springs after 15 years - they did not show any damage. (I needed renew the shock-absorber top)"

How do I remove a broken leaf spring?

You will need to jack up the truck by the frame on the side that has the broken spring not by the axle. Then when the tire is off the ground loosen the leaf retention bolts that hold the spring to the axle remove the broken spring and replace it. Side note have a good set of jack stands to support the vehicle while you work on replacing the broke spring never trust a jack they can give away at any time.

Broken valve spring

What engine? I've never encountered a broken valve spring on a 3.3 or 3.8 liter. Broken rocker arm shaft mounts are a known issue on the 3.3 liter.

YSuspension low, while driving. Is it safe.

Usually a broken coil spring or leaf spring depending on what is has. And yes can be very dangerous. Have seen a piece of coil spring puncture a tire and cause a blowout and people have been killed from pieces of broken truck spring on highway.

Passenger door hinge spring mechanism is broken 97 gmc jimmy

The spring is likely "broken" because the pins in the bushings are worn. It's a common failure point on many GM vehicles. The hinge pins, bushings door check roller and spring can be replaced at most body shops for about $150-200.

My rear end has dropped and looks crazy and will not lift

Do you have:
1. Shocks and Leaf Springs?
If so: the Shocks could be "shot" and/or broken or completely discharged. OR the Leaf Springs Retainers or the Leaf Springs have broken. The Retainers should have two (2) bolts holding braces which hold the multiple leafs of the Leaf Springs together. Check these. Also you have bushings bolted then welded to the frame that will need to be checked.
2. Struts with Coils (Springs)?
If so: the Struts could be "shot, and/or broken or completely discharged. The Coils (Springs) could be broken of dislocated.
3. Coils (Springs) without Struts?
If so: the Coils (Springs) could be broken or dislocated.
4. Independent Bar Suspension?
If so: the independent bars could be bent, broken or dislocated from their frame connections with the frame.
5. Solid Axle?
If so: the Axle could be bent, broken or dislocated from their frame connections with the frame.
Since you cannot lift the vehicle, I am assuming you are using the jack under the axle to lift? This would point to the Axle/Bars being broken.

Was an excessive load (weight) put on the back of the SUV lately?

If you can't lift the rear of the vehicle, jack-up and properly support the front then jack-up and support the middle towars the rear of the vehicle to gain access to the rear of the vehicle for a better look.
However while doing this if the rear starts rising: keep a careful eye on the rear tires to see if they are going lower than what they would normally go when you are jacking-up the rear, especially with a broken Axle or Bars. THIS COULD CAUSE THE BROKEN OR DISLOCATED PARTS TO FURTHER BREAK OR CAUSE OTHER CONNECTING PARTS TO FAIL AND BREAK OR COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE REST OF THE SURROUNDING AREAS OF THE CAR. I have seen an Axle and Bars that were broken "pierce" into the body of the vehicle because they were not carefully watching.
Let me know if this helped, or if you have any additional information, problems, or questions. Feel free to contact me at FixYa.com!

Broken spring on the gas fuel tank door on Toyota ''Camry'' 1998

Go to your nearest Toyota dealer. Purchase this part number: 77360-22020; approx 4 dollars.

Open the fuel door. Being careful, remove the leftover plastic that is hooked by the door hinge. Insert the new spring assembly under the slot, and press it in until it clicks into place. Very easy to do.
Hope this helps, and thanks for choosing FixYa.
