SOURCE: 6.6 diesel shut down after starting, still cranking strong but won't start.

I would double check to make sure no air was in line. If it still won't crank, has to be pump.

fuel transfer pump needs replaced. worn out i believe its on the injector pump as a takeoff and not internal. Get yourself a manual! it will help you understand. you can do this yourself if your mechanical but you will and need the manual if you are going to keep this car. There is a chance also that you have a leak in the system and it lost it's prime. you will need to fill the filters and bleed the injectors ot start it.do this first but get the book!!!look under bleeding fuel system.

Old j reg mercedes 230te wont start

Check Injectors spraying Fuel when you start. Fuel pump prime because you hear the pump. IF pump is weak, then your Fuel distributor doesn't have correct pressure to spray fuel when injectors open. Do your sparks plug wet after trying several times. If they are dry then you don't have fuel. Replace injectors If they are wet then you don't have correct air:gas ratio of 14.6:1. Replace Fuel distributors

Dodge cummins won't start, fuel reaching injector pump but no fuel coming out of injector pump.

You said you have fuel flowing from the inlet line of the injection pump? But not at the injector lines?

I have a mercedes 2.5 td when i step on the gas it loses power, i have changed fuel filter but no different

It can be faulty glow plugs (replace), clogged fuel injectors (fuel injector cleaner), warn distributor cap/wiring (check/replace), fuel pump circuit, also might be wrong ignition timing.
Please kindly let me know if you need more info
Good Luck

Try the ignition control module located under the distributor cap $30 - $60. This is one of two parts on this truck that will cause it to not run or shut down after running for only a short time. The other is the fuel pump I think it is safe to rule that out as your problem

Many possible causes. Spark plugs, HT wires, Distributor cap or rotor, Stale fuel, Ignition coil or a fuel clog somewhere.
