Great symtoms. seen them all. on this engine.
the bottom crank cog, (gear) loves to fail on this car.
the cars with A/T ,trans, the last mechanic failed to set
the bolt to 94ft/lbs, and now its loose, and eats the cog center
and crank snout up. (there is a TSB covering this)
1: bad belt, (strands in side snapped) or old belt or put backwards from last time run.
2: cogs not aligned.
3: head locking pins missing, again, last mech put head on and lost
both corner head pins, now heat id canted. seen that too..
4: idler bad.
5: idle under side, last mech failed to index the lever pin,

all 11 ways are here,
http://www.fixkick.com/t-belt/drift.html

hit home and see how to do both engines correctly
the 8v and 16v are done differently.

the snout killed page is here.

There should be a round sleeve that fits on the crank pulley once the timing belt is installed. It looks like a big metal washer. If all the other pulleys are ok and nothing out of line it should not walk off.

yes too bad no year, the 95 year that back washer on the crank cog is not , cast into the cog, 1 piece then in 1996 (usa) the washer is tone wheel. neather can fall off. the early engines, if somoe lost that piece the cog will eat up the front oil pump facing.

Oil leak front engine timing chan

1995 Tracker would have a timing BELT. Normal oil leak points (in order) on a Suzuki G16 engine are the distributor base (rear of motor), valve cover (top of motor), front main seal (behind lower timing belt cog) cam seal (behind the upper timing belt cog) and rear main seal. (behind the flywheel). I'd suspect the front main seal or cam seal. I use foot power to help find oil leaks.

How do line up the top gear and bottom gear after taking off the timeing belt and the gears got moved 1992 geo tracker 4 cyl

Align sprockets as shown below. As you put the belt on, it should be tight on the right side for proper timing with the gears in these positions. Make sure it stays on both pulleys as you release the tensioner onto the belt.

The timing on my Geo Tracker is off.

Sounds like you have the timing belt off a notch or two. Set the crank pulley at the notch and TDC then remove the top screws on the belt cover and pull the cover back far enough to shine a light to check the cam pulley mark against the notch it should align with !
