SOURCE: 2000 Honda (Isuzu Rodeo) Check Engine Light ? 4 Codes, Misfire/Throttle/EVAP ?

Hi Jack,

I am not an expert and I don't have the codes in front of me with the meaning but I can offer some advice and hopefully it will solve your problem. First keep the print out of the codes and take it/them with you. Have someone check the oxygen sensor. It's possible that all of the codes you are getting lead up to the computer (electrical issue). I sure hope this helps. Good luck and let me know how things turn out.

SOURCE: P0301 fault code #1 misfire- warning lights

Hi, I'd focus just on that cylinder for now, unless the other lights come on again. This ought to give you enough information to start diagnosing the problem - http://www.obd-codes.com/p0301 - good luck!

SOURCE: Check engine light

A multi misfire may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plug or wires, Faulty coil (pack), Faulty oxygen sensor(s), Faulty fuel injector(s), Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages, Faulty camshaft position sensor, Defective computer.

The engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wire, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

Good luck and hope this information helps, keep me posted, be glad to help you get the truck running 100% again. Not sure if your running a K&N air filter, and if you are there may be a flim of oil on the MAF sensor that is making you run lean. You may want to spray down the MAF sensor with a can of MAF cleaner.

SOURCE: 2000 hyundai accent code 302 misfire and slow responce o2 senser

Yep!.. Typical with an engine cylinder misfire. Inspect the plug and ignition wire, especially the insulator. If you see a 'christmas tree' pattern on the insulator, that's where your problem is.

SOURCE: the code reads P 306 misfire on cylinder 6. How

A P0306 code means that the car's computer
has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing properly. In this case it's cylinder #6.

Symptoms may include:
the engine may be harder to start
the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
other symptoms may also be present

Causes

A code P0306 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plug or wire
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Running out of fuel
Poor compression
Defective computer

If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Random multiple misfire P0300, P0302, P0304 on 2006 Kia Rio

A competent mechanic will check all probable causes associated with these DTC codes.
Code P0300: Random-Multiple misfire detected. Probable causes:
1. Vacuum leaks, damaged hoses, or improper routing
2. Fuel contamination
3. Ignition system - Ignition module, coil, spark plugs and wires
4. Fuel system
Code P0302: Cylinder 2 misfire detected. Probable causes:
1. Control unit software in need of updating
2. Faulty PCM or ECM
3. Faulty fuel injector
4. Ignition system
5. Fuel system
Code 0304: Cylinder 4 misfire detected. Probable causes:
1. Control unit software in need of updating
2. Faulty PCM or ECM
3. Faulty fuel injector
4. Ignition system
5. Fuel system

Be sure the invoice enumerates all of these probable causes as having been checked. Also, some of the replacement parts installed earlier may be faulty.

I have yellow check engine light on in my 2008 kia rio and just took it to autozone and they ran a scan on it said misfire cylinder 1whats that mean and how can i fix it ?

I had the same problem with the engine misfire on my 2006 Kia Rio, I took it to 5 garages, I took it to Kia, they were all ****, and had no answer to the misfiring of my engine, yes the "engine light" came on all the time, and sometimes the engine light stayed on.

They all tried flushing the fuel injectors, well that didn't work, and they were confused why it didn't work and said that they couldn't fix it, some said it was a piston, and you might have to overhaul the engine, after that and lots of money spent I had the same problem and thought to myself, well that was one ******** theory, they were so bemused by the whole misfiring of this engine and said they couldn't fix it.

They ran lots of computer tests on my car with a misfiring code that showed up, but a code is just a code with no step by step instructions to fix the problem, no one couldn't fix the misfiring problem.

$1500 later I was about to give up until my sister said that she had found a descent mechanic, told him about my problem and told me to bring my car in.

Well to my amazement, he found the problem, the misfire was caused by the coil that had been shortening (an electrical shortening), and there was evidence of a burn mark on the coil, well he changed the whole coil and changed the spark plug leads and now the car doesn't misfire and works great - I hope this is a solution to your misfiring problem, I thought I would share my story about my Kia Rio misfiring problem - Have a great day everyone.

P0355....Ignition Coil E Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction would suggest you need to replace your coil packs. Heat damages them after time and will eventually lead to misfire and very rough running motor especially when it's damp out.

P0700....Transmission Control System Malfunction

I would start researching the possibility of a bad ground, a loose main cable to the battery, etc. If the codes come back, the P0700 can be very serious and could require attention at a Transmission shop or dealership. There is a remote possibility that the codes are entirely unrelated.

My check engine light/overdrive flashes on my 2000 kia sephia what could be the problem?

There are many different sources for the light to come on. Anything that caused combustion to fail, commonly called a misfire will set the light. Various sensors such as oxygen sensors that evaluate the exhaust before and after the gases are burned in the converter. Transmission codes may set the check engine light to appear. If the car is running okay, get it fixed in a reasonable amount of time such as within the month. It will probably save you fuel if you do. However if the Check engine light is flashing, you should not be driving it as damage is being done to the converter.
