they're discussing this about the sephia, but the same principle is applied to your sportage

this "fuel injection pressure regulator" can not be "reset" it can only be replaced if the fuel pressure on the injector rail is not within specs... you'll have to attach a gauge and read the psi to determine if it's bad or good or physically leaking

for more info: read the following link about how they work

Kia Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement

and you can enter your year make model to see the picture of it(use another site like rockauto or autozone) & then pop the hood and spot it at the end of the fuel injection rail

SOURCE: 2001 kia sportage blower motor resister

Rule of thumb...unless you get a better answer:  look for a couple of wires on a small plate that is in the airflow of the fan on the heater/ac unit.  The resistor pack is always air cooled by the fan.

SOURCE: how to repair a fuel tank pressure sensor in a

The Fuel tank pressure sensor or Fuel pressure sensor? The pressure sensor for the fuel line is located in the Engine compartment, although I don't have the exact location it is located on the fuel line. If your talking about the Fuel level sensor that is actually part of the Fuel pump assembly. You should pick up the Haynes Repair manual on your vehicle before attempting either repair.

HOLD light is on........car is running fine, recently went in for a tune-up This is a 2001 Kia Sportage

there is a 4-5 inch fuel return hose coming off the fuel rail. Usually most technicians do not see the fuel leak because it is slight and it evaporates fast. it is also close to the cold air intake for the heater(cowl) making the fuel smell inside the vehicle strong. the hose when removed will be dryrotted and hard. the hose costs under 10 dollars and a half hour to an hour labor is needed. it comes directly off the fuel pressure regulator

Try changing the main relays in the fuse box on the drivers side in the bonnet. Mine also gave problems on and off until I replaced it (I changed both. 1 is for the fuel pump and the other is for the ignition)
