My turn signal and flasher fuses blow when I turn the ignition on

Due to a fender bender I had to replace the driver side turn signal. Now the signals right or left or hazard warning lights do not work. I replaced the flasher relay with a new one and still no lights but blown fuses. My wife mentioned that prior to the fender bender the left turn signal was blinking rapidly. The vehicle is a 1998 Honda Altima GXE

You have obvious short in the wiring - check the bulbs first, then the wiring. it is rarity to exchange relay - if it was not physically damaged during accident.

Has the car been in a fender bender ? check for wiring going to the front and rear lights to see if on has rubbed into a ground wire or the body. ( even if there has been no accident.)

When u turn left turn signal on they flash really fast and the light on fender doesnt light up now with no turn signals on and you push horn button left side starts flashing with the fender on flashing...

dear,

firstly make all the bulbs glow in the indicator segment.
this will moderate the flasher speed as due to even one bulb fused, causes other bulbs to glow at high rate.

thanx

Why are my turn signals not working?

If they turn signal indicator merely turns on, rather than flash on the dashboard, this is indicative of a blown bulb on the exterior of the car. Check the fender, bumper and tail lights for a lamp that is out. If the turn signal lamp on the dash does NOT come on with a solid arrow? It could be anything from a blown fuse to a dead flasher module. Check fuses for turn/tail/stop light circuits in this case. If any are blown, replace. If the replacement blows the second it touches the panel socket, you may have a short in body harnesses. If it does not blow and you still have no turn signal indicator on dash, check/replace flasher module.

The flasher unit will not cause an overload in the circuit.Activate the four way flasher and if the fuse does not trip then it appears there is a short in either the left or right signal circuit when the steering wheel is turned. The position of the steering wheel will determine which side is shorting out if this is the cause

Location of flasher for turn signal

  1. Access the COMBINATION Turn Signal and Hazard INDICATOR FLASHER on the Left-Hand (drivers) side of the instrument panel in the fuse junction panel.
  1. Remove turn signal flasher/hazard indicator flasher by pulling indicator flasher straight out.
  1. To install, align the terminals of the flasher and press into place.
