SOURCE: stall upon running out of gas but won't start up again with gas

Remove the air cleaner and pour about a quarter cup of gasoline into the carburetor or throttle body. Do not stand near the engine when cranking it -- fire/small explosion hazard.

SOURCE: 2005 chevrolet venture load levelers not working

had the same problem with my ford a few years back, found that the rubber seal on the piston in the compressor had run dry and it was too hard for the compressor to push the piston up and down the bore which cut the power to the compressor and you had to stop the car turn it off for a couple of minutes and restart it and the compressor would pump air for another couple of minutes and stop again.
I solved the problem by replacing the shocks with a pair of pump up shocks that have a valve like a tyre valve and you pump them up at the service station
hope this helps

Van runs good then stalls out. then hard to start. If i let it sit for 5 minutes it starts again no problem. Then stalls again shortly there after.

This sounds like a failing camshaft position sensor and weak crank shaft sensor .When crank shaft sensor gets weak it will stop functioning. When crank shaft sensor stops working then ECM will not control fuel system and the fuel will stop flowing. And this can cause the problem. When crank shaft sensor gets heated it will stop working, but when the car shuts off, the sensor gets cold and works for few minutes and sensor again gets hot and it stalls. ---------- Get the crank shaft sensor tested on your Chevrolet venture. ---------- There are many other possibilities for this stalling problem, but crank shaft problem is indicating in your case. For more details, click the link below:--- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/10/stalling-problem-on-2000-chevrolet.html ------------ This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I need all the diffeent firing order for gm 3400 2000 I have a back firing issue that won't let the van start?

it sounds more like the crank sensor is bad. when crank sensor has failed or is failing, certain timing problems will arise. the engine may start but shut off in a few minutes or seconds of operation. more than likely engine will not start. it controls timing, engine backfire, no spark or pulse at injectors, car will stall when stopped. heres the firing order: 2-4-6 front from left to right
1-3-5 rear left to right hope this helps !! go here for a diagram-- http://autorepair.about.com/library/firing_orders/bl-fo-6417.htm have a very good day !!
