Why not check the fuse to see if it's bad?

Dashboard fuse

1.Open the door to your service panel and examine it with a flashlight to identify the blown fuse.

2.For light and receptacle circuits, look for a break or blackened area visible through the glass of a screw-in plug fuse.

3.Screw in a new plug fuse, or install a new cartridge fuse in the fuse block and press the block back in.

4.More often than not the problem with cartridge fuses is related to loose clips or rivets in the fuse block or fuse box, not the fuse itself.

Put new after market rear bumper on my 2002 chevy Silverado 2500hd and my new license plate light has one wire and old light has 2 wire so I just connected the hot wire to new light and now my rear tail...

Check for that fuse in a fuse panel under the dash.
That second wire from the old light is a ground wire, whereas the new light's socket is case grounded if there is no ground wire for the light. If the fuse for the tail lights is good, check if the tail lights lost a ground .

Blowing 30 amp engine control fuse.

You say it eventually allows you to put new fuse in, do you mean when it sits for a while, a new fuse won't blow, but if it blows and you immediately replace it, it blows again instantly?

Windows wont work

Are there any blown fuses? If a fuse is to be replaced, be sure to use a new fuse of the same capacity. Always determine why the fuse blew first and completely eliminate the problem before installing a new fuse. Never use a fuse of higher capacity than specified.53df58d.gif 1. Fuse blown due to over-current. Prior to replacing the fuse with a new one, check the circuit for a short and the related parts for abnormal conditions. Only after the correction of a short or replacement of abnormal parts should a fuse with the same ampere rating be installed. c015b83.gif
