I would recommend a scan test on the ECM to see if any trouble codes are there and point you in the right direction. The MAF sensors on thesr vehicles are problamatic and cause throttle actuator to go into limp mode. Unplug the MAF sensor and see if it makes any difference

I had the same problem with my 2004 Sedona 3.5L with 80k miles on it. I dropped the exhaust and found it was a clogged catalytic converter. Fixed it and now it runs like a champ.

My Kia shortage did similar. Found out it was in 'limp mode' not letting the engine go over certain mph due to a clogged catalytic converter.

SOURCE: How to change the oil on a 2005 Kia Sedona

The oil filter is towards the front of the car, underneath on the passenger side, at the corner of the engine cradle. Loosen the drain plug and drain the oil. Make sure the old oil filter gasket came off with the oil filter. Reinstall the new oil filter. Reinstall the drain plug and fill with 5 quarts of 10w/30 motor oil.

Parts needed tune up

Mr.EVANS, most problem you might have is either the engine has a vacuum leak from somewhere,or the throttle body is so dirty with dust and oily surface. The first thing you have to do is- if you know how to do it -remove the flex hose of the induction from air filter top the throttle body and there you will see the throttle, and surely if is dirty as well.
If the throttle is electronically accelerates, ask someone to sit at the driver's seat, turn ignition on and press the accelerator pedal to floor,in order to make the throttle to fully open, giving you access to clean it by using a clean cloth and a spray can with carb cleaner, spraying on the cloth and do the round surface of the throttle body, making it clean allowing the throttle seat perfectly. after that you fit everything in order and start the car and see how it goes. If the throttle is manual, it is the same job but you can do it yourself . Good luck.

Engine won't go over 5-10 MPH

You need to take the car to the dealer, because you need to recalibrate the electric throttle body with a TECH 2 Scanner, because the system went into a Limp mode.

How do you clean the air intake throttle on a 2005 Ford Freestyle?

if its drive-by-wire, remove the intake pipe to the throttle body. have someone get into the driver's seat, turn the ignition ON, and leave ENGINE OFF! have the driver put the acclerator pedal all the way down to the floor as that will open the throttle bodys butterfly valve. Now grab a rag, spray some carb cleaner on the rag and wipe that throttle body's insides clean! be sure whoever is in the drivers seat with there foot on the gas does not let go while your hands are in the throttle body as it can pinch and it does hurt! hope I helped, please rate!

2005 Kia Sedona, Trouble Code P0320. Everything I read online tells me its a Crankshaft Sensor. I called Kia and then sent me to www.kiatechinfo.com were it says that the code is an Ignition System Failure...

This is a common problem usually related to the crankshaft position sensor. Before you replace it, disconnect the electrical connector to the CPS sensor and clean it with electrical contact spray and add a dab of dielectrical grease. If the problem continues, replace the CPS sensor. It is easy to replace and is not very expensive. It just bolts to the engine block with one or two bolts. I believe the CPS sensor on the Sedona is behind the timing cover on the front of the engine.

Accelerator pedal sticking - 2005 Pacifica

Buy throttle body cleaner at your local parts store. Take the big intake hose off that is connected to the throttle body and air filter housing. Open up the butterfly (like you're controling the throttle at the engine). Spray this cleaner inside the throttle body, around the butterfly, where it motions back and forward on the pin. You will see a lot of carbon build up run out. Do this 2-3 times. It doesn't take a lot to clean it, just a couple of quick sprays. Wipe it clean with a clean cloth or rag. Put it all back together. It will seem hard to start for a few turn overs, but this is from the cleaner and it will dry out quick. What happens is, over time this carbon builds up where the butterfly closes and it gets (stuck) on this build up, which causes you to push harder on the gas pedal or it will not close completely. They charge will charge you like $250+ to do this and usually it's just build -up. Try it and let us know how it works for you. The cleaner $5

Sticky deceleration.

get a can of carberator cleaner, and a bottle of white lithium grease, the spray kind,

spray the throttle springs really good with the cleaner, let it dry, and spray the lithium grease on it, and work the throttle back and forth, this should solve your problem.

2000 Camry Gas Pedal Sticks

What you have is carbon buildup on the throttle vallve.
What you need to do:
Buy some good carb cleaner at an auto parts store (Gumout is good)
Locate the tube running from the air filter box to the intake manifold. At the end of the tube, that hooks on to the engine side, there is a large circular clamp. Loosen the clamp, and take the tube away. You will now see a brass coloured plate, that opens when the gas pedal is depressed. Have someone hold the gas pedal to the floor (WITH the engine OFF), and spray and spray this whole area with the cleaner, until the plate that moves, and the circular sides are spotlessly clean; then wipe up the residue with paper towels. What you are doing is cleaning the carbon buildup from the rotating part; this carbon rubs the circular interior, and impeded the throttle plate opening. This is to be expected with a car with your mileage, and it is quite normal. Clean it real good, and your issue will disappear. We do this same proceedure her 10-15 times a week.
This should help; and thanks for choosing FixYa.
