Where is the starter on a 98 blazer

Fig.: Starter mounting location-4.3L and 5.0L engines

The following is a general procedure for all trucks covered in this information, and may vary slightly depending on model and series.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Disconnect and tag all wires at the solenoid terminal.

Reinstall all nuts as soon as they are removed, since the thread sizes are different.

4. Remove the front bracket from the starter and the mounting bolts. On engines with a solenoid heat shield, remove the front bracket upper bolt and detach the bracket from the starter.

Hope helps (remember to rate and comment this)..

How do you remove and replace a starter for a 1992 2.6L Isuzu Amigo?

1.The battery negative and more importantly positive cable must be disconnected.
2. There are 2 14mm bolts holding the starter in place, the upper bolt can be removed by leaning over into the engine compartment from under the hood with a socket and extension on a ratchet or a ratcheting wrench.
3. crawl under the front passenger wheel and remove the positive cable nut, remove positive cable from starter.
4. unclip the small ground wire attached to starter.
5. remove the lower starter bolt.
6. There is room on the bottom of the vehicle to wiggle the starter down to the floor and out from under the vehicle. There isn't enough room to get the starter out from the engine compartment up and out from under the hood.
7. installation of new starter is reverse of installation.

This procedure should work on any Isuzu Rodeo, Trooper, Amigo, or Honda Passport with a 2.6L 4 cylinder 4ZE1 engine

How would i remove a starter from under the hood?

You cannot remove starter from under the hood.
The starter can be removed from under the car. The procedure is:
Disconnect the battery. Raise the front of vehicle, and securely support on jack stands.
Remove the transaxle driveplate/torque converter cover. Disconnect the wires from terminals on starter, and solenoid. Remove the starter mounting bolts and remove the starter from the vehicle.
Installation is the reverse of removal.

It is well hidden. You can find it by laying under the front of the vehicle and looking up at the engine block on the passenger side just above the starter. It is bolted to the block directly above the starter and just below the intake manifold. This is not an easy job. Depending on you skills as a contortionist and tools on hand, you may have to remove the starter and the oil filter to get to it.

Whers is the starter on a 1996 saturn sl and what is the best way to replace it

Just is one way to replace. Review this:

1996 Saturn SL 1.9L MFI SOHC 4cyl

If the starter is to be replaced, remove the bracket from the old starter

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  3. If equipped, remove the starter shield pin by pulling on it with pliers, then lift and release the shield from the solenoid.
  4. Spray the solenoid electrical connection nuts and studs with penetrating oil, and allow it to seep in for a minute to loosen the connections. While the oil is soaking in, tag the solenoid electrical connectors for identification during assembly.
It is very important that the solenoid electrical connection nuts and studs are sprayed with penetrating oil prior to removal to avoid damage to the solenoid end cap. A cracked cap will allow debris and moisture to enter and corrode the solenoid contacts.
  1. Carefully loosen the bolts and detach the starter electrical connectors. Position the wires to the side and out of the way.
  2. Remove the lower starter mounting bolt.
  3. Using an obstruction wrench, remove the upper starter mounting bolt. If the upper starter mounting bolt cannot be reached from below the vehicle, it may be accessible from above, through the intake manifold support bracket opening.
  4. If equipped, remove the bolt attaching the starter rear support bracket to the vehicle. Rotate the starter until the bracket misses the axle shaft support bracket.
  5. Carefully support the starter, pulling it rearward and toward the left side of the vehicle to remove it.
To install:
  1. If equipped on the old starter, install the rear starter support bracket to the new starter. Tighten the bracket nuts to 7 ft. lbs. (9 Nm).
  2. Guide the starter into the bell housing and rotate the assembly until the lower bolt hole in the starter aligns.
  3. Verify that the bracket is properly aligned and loosely install the bracket bolt, then loosely install the starter mounting bolts. It may be necessary to raise or lower the vehicle for access to both the upper and lower bolts, but do not tighten any bolts until all of the mounting bolts have been started.
  4. Tighten both upper and lower starter assembly attachment bolts to 27 ft. lbs. (37 Nm).
  5. Reconnect the electrical wires and install the nuts. Be careful not to overtighten the nuts and crack the solenoid end cap. Route the wiring cable so it will not contact any rough surfaces. Tighten the starter positive terminal nut to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm) and the solenoid terminal nut to 44 inch lbs. (5 Nm).
  6. If equipped, install the starter shield and push pin, being careful that the pin is positioned for possible future removal.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable and verify operation.

Can't find the starter in a dodge spirit 1989

Taken from Haynes repair manual. I used these instructions myself to replace starter motor on my 1989 Dodge Spirit after nearly going berserk at three attempts to remove it without wanting to look it up in book.
1)Detach the negative battery terminal. 2) Working from above the engine, remove upper mounting bolt and nut to starter. (Access is accomplished this way: stand on driver-side fender and look down at brake fluid reservoir. Just below and beyond the brake reservoir you will see a vent hose. Disconnect hose & remove. Now you will see the starter motor from above view. You will be able to see a mounting bolt and a nut connecting starter to engine just above the starter (facing brake reservoir). Remove (1) bolt & (1) nut first, then raise vehicle and suport on jackstands. Then go underneath the vehicle and remove the remaining lower mounting bolt (1) on the starter. Label wires then detach them from starter. Now you can remove the starter. If you find it a tight squeeze, you may want to remove or swing the transaxle on that side for additional access, although that is not mentioned in manual (but I did it). It just gives you more room, but does not seem absolutely necessary. 3) Installation is reverse of removal.
please do rate the solution.
thank you for using fixya.

1999 Chevy Blazer Starter

the starter is located on the passenger side lower motor. it has two bolts in it that hold it in place. it actually goes through a hole/slot in the transmission to the flex plate.

1st. disconnect the negative cable on the battery.
2nd. raise the vehicle safely and place a jack stand under the vehicle out of your way but near where you will be working(for safety).
3rd. remove the two bolts that hold the starter in place.
4th. remove the wires from the back of the starter.
5th. install in reverse order of above.

note: there may be little plates between the starter and the mounting points called shims. if there are then make sure you put them back.
