Check the oil level in the gearbox when cold ,now their is a special way of doing this but a quick way is when cold it should be about a inch or so above the full mark and when engine starts it will drop ,if it all appears ok then take vehicle to teh dealer or a autobox specialist as it could be more than one specific problem and without my head under the bonnet i wouldnt know .

Sounds like you have a transmission internal problem> I would sugest that you take it to a transmission tech for the diagnosis.
