Inclined to agree, but when you take it back, ask them to concentrate on making sure that any earth straps between engine, gearbox and chassis have been replaced correctly. Another thought, did they weld on the exhaust anywhere and not disconnect the battery causing a surge through the electrics??? This could have upset the gearbox ECU as well as the alternator....

Sounds like the shifter linkage - the parts between between the shift knob in the car and the transmission outside the car - has been bent or misaligned. The alternator may have had a connector dislodged during service. Either way, I'd bring it back to whoever did the work and let them solve the problem.

97 Nissan 200sx 2.0l....car wont stay running when put in gear. When idling sometimes when engine is reved up it stalls, other times while idling I can rev it up and its smooth but once I put it in gear it...

You'll need to change the distributor, as the distributor shaft oil seal has gone bad. Without sufficient spark, you'll have no power. Don't forget a new cap/rotor.

In my 1995 Nissan 200sx ser it doesn't wanna go in

Not sure about popping out of reverse. But 5th gear pop out is a problem on these, nissan never had a recall, but they offer a slightly altered version of the 5th gear that is available. Go read up at nissanforums there's a lot there, pics and all, even a petition to Nissan for everyone who's had the same problem, me included.

My nissan 200sx wont start but wheni turn the key and move the gear shift at the sametime is the only way it will start, what can i do?

Your neutral safety switch has moved a notch out of whack. You can under there and loosen it up and turn it ever so slightly till it kliks then tighten it back up, it is very sensitive and has a very small window. Check it out.

HOW CAN I FIX A GEARBOX OF AN AUTOMATIC NISSAN B14

Auto boxes are best left to professionals but there are some things you can do 1) check that the selector rod from beneath the gear shift to the gear selector on the side of the gear box is correctly adjusted, 2) make sure that the transmission oil is at the right level, new oil can be added via the dip stick tube. If you are adventurous and are able to remove the gearbox pan you might be to see evidence of the gear box damage, metal shavings etc. If you can remove the gearbox you may be able to replace a sheared splined input shaft (indicated by a an engine that is running but that will simply not engage gear). Anything repairs beyond this should be left to an expert or simply replace the gearbox

Sounds like the bushings wore out on the shift tower and the spring inside have forced it to be pulled downward.
