All - driver - passenger - front an back ? Look for broken wires inside the rubber boot from the body to the door ,driver side !

Power Windows Operation
Power Windows
The vehicle is equipped with power windows controlled by the door modules. The DDM receives a window switch request, over the SBI serial data, from either the passenger door module wired to the window switch pressed or from the driver door switch assembly. The DDM checks the Class 2 serial data to see if the status information is correct (i.e. ignition switch position) to permit window operation.
If the status information to permit window operation is correct, the DDM sends the command to the door module controlling the window to move the window as requested.
Windows Power and Ground
The windows are powered by discreet power and ground circuits. These circuits are in the same dedicated connector as the window motor drive circuits.

PWR/WDO 30 amp circuit breaker located in the rear fuse box ,DRVMDL fuse 10amp located in the same rear fuse box . This power the driver door module (computer )

The vehicle is equipped with power door locks. Each lock actuator is powered and controlled by the door module mounted in the individual door. The driver door module (DDM) is the master control for the door lock system but the rear integration module (RIM) contains the program that determines when the lock functions are permitted.
The exterior key cylinders are wired to either the DDM or the passenger door module (PDM), depending on the location of the key cylinder. The interior lock switches are wired to the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) and the PDM. The DDSA and the PDM send the lock switch requests to the DDM over the simple bus interface (SBI) serial data circuit. The DDM then sends the lock requests to the RIM over the Class 2 serial data circuits.
The door lock operation modes are controlled by the rear integration module (RIM). The RIM examines the requested function from the DDM, or the remote function actuator (RFA), as well as the transmission shift selector position and the ignition switch position information available over the Class 2 serial data circuits. The RIM determines if a locking function is permitted, and commands the DDM to perform the function permitted. The DDM then sends commands to the rest of the door modules via the SBI to implement the selected locking function.
All programmable modes of lock system operation are stored in the RIM. The RIM checks the lock function program selected against the lock requests, the transmission selection and ignition key switch condition to determine if the requested function is permitted. If the requested function is permitted, the RIM then commands the DDM to perform the lock function over the Class 2 serial data circuits. The DDM commands the individual door modules to perform the lock function over the SBI serial data circuit.

Where is the control module for the windows and locks etc.

( RIM ) is rear integrated module , under the back seat . Also a fuse box is also located under the back seat.

Your best bet is take the vehicle to the dealer or a repair shop that knows how the system works . Are you familiar with GM class 2 serial data communication network ? You could inadvertently render your vehicle unable to start an run if the class 2 bus were to become shorted to ground .

Hi, there is only one relay for all of the windows, so that is not the problem. The likely problem is the switch. I recommend you test the switch using an ohmmeter.
In the case of the door lock, that problem may be a failed lock motor. I recommend you apply power directly to the lock motor to see if it works. If it does, check the switch. If not, replace the motor.

I have a 2007 Tahoe, the rear cargo door (lift type) will not unlock. Sometimes it sounds like the door unlocks, but when I attempt to open it, it's locked. The window on the cargo door functions properly....


you know , i had a very, very similar experience just a month ago. The liftglass is also working.Just like you, we used to open doors like these types every now and then, and as for you, your truck. Somehow both of us know the feel, ya know, if the locks are disengaged and ready to lift, right? So by that moment, i ruled out any fuses and wirings trouble. Assessing the situation, my last option is to drill for a small access hole on the trim from the inside. So i can reach for that doorlock lever internally. Anyway i didn't go for it. Instead i went back to that handle and tried again. I think i have tripled my force and bang! It opened. What i found out is the bottom portion of the rubber sealing sticking. If you wont be as lucky as i am, please bring your truck to an accurate driller who is familiar with this trouble. We dont want many holes on ur trim, right. A small one can be tolerated. goodluck and have a nice day. : )

2005 colorado pulled fuse for power locks, to stop automatic locks. drivers window and door locks quit working. reinstalled fuse but didn"t start working again.????. fuse is ok drivers window and locks...


This is a common problem, there is either a pinched wire in the harness that is in the door jam or your fuse block is shot, there is a gm service bulletin out on this, I would call your local dealership to find out if it is covered.

Back window doesnt roll down properly when you open the door, so I have to push it down a little before I close it. Also the lock bottom for the windows doesnt work.


dis-connect your battery for 30 seconds to do a switch reset on your window, when you reconnect the batt your window will go down, open and close rear door to check lock functions ok first. close rear door and using key or switch inside car close window fully with out stopping, this should reset the window.

My 1996 landrover discovery only the drivers side window works the sunroofs work but my other 3 door windows dont work at all any help would be usefull


check and see if the window lock is on or not, driver side window and sunroof will still function when window lock is activated however, the other windows will not work, even by the drivers control, it should be the button on the top right next to your power door lock switch,

The driverside window stopped working and the switches stopped working for all the windows and the the door locks...could it be a fuse or the switch in the door effects all the other door functions?


If you can operate the other windows and lock at each door then basically it's only the drivers side that wont operate anything is that right? If so it's the switches in the drivers side door

The window controls only work on the driver's window


if it is the only window that works at all, even from their direct switches, then the window lock is on, or the fuse or wiring is faulty for the window lock. first check the fuse for the window lock, then remove another doors window consoles on the door panel and check for power and ground.
