You missed two spots.

EGR air passage tube

and

EGR base gasket

The air passage tube get clogged with carbon just like the base of the EGR valve.

It's ten time worst!!!

Get a full bottle of SeaFoam,WD-40 and a snake/wire to clear out this passage.

A home vacuum clean will help speed up the job.

DO NOT forget to get a new EGR base gasket.

Good luck

Actron CP9410 PocketScan Plus Code Reader aster_cloud_id = '2423281'; aster_cloud_format = '800x200'; document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='http://web.asterpix.com/media/js/searchlight.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E")); FAQ: How do I reset the "Check Engine" Light? After you've properly diagnosed and fixed the problem that triggered the OBD trouble code, you can reset or clear the Check Engine / Service Engine Soon light by one of two methods.
Note: The code (i.e. CEL / SES light) will usually go away after a certain number of driving cycles, perhaps a few days. You can choose to wait it out or follow one of these methods.
The cheap, easy, free method Simply disconnect your battery, turn on the headlight switch
for about five to ten minutes, and re-connect the battery. This is pretty simple, but will likely result in you losing your radio presets and perhaps some other small things like that.
Using a scan tool Most if not all scan tools
have an option to clear or reset codes without the use of any tools or touching the battery. Consult your tool's manual for information on how to do it with your particular model.

I have a 96 ford taurus lx station wagon. I had 2 codes pop up p0171 and p0174 i found a vacuum leak with the pcv hose and replaced it im trying to break loose my O2 sensors to clean them and also change...

oxygen sensors can't be cleaned. They're porous. If they're silled with soot, you have to replace them. Plus, O2 sensors don't caused lean codes, they only report them. Stop looking at the oxygen sensors and look for a vacuum leak, low fuel pressure or clogged fuel injectors.

Hooking up a scan tool that can view sensor data is the preferred method of diagnosting . Looking at fuel trim's , short & long term trim's . are the O2 sensors switch normally , what is Mass air flow sensor doing ? Stall's when hot ,cold or doesn't matter ? Did you use propane around intake manifold to check for leaks or use a bottle of water .

I have replaced the port seals, isolater bolts, cleaned the EGR ports, plugs and wires, and chanced the air filter. I was getting both 171 and 174 codes. Now after 60 miles or so, pulled the codes again...

P0171 is a lean fuel condition . The computer reflashed has nothing to do with it . Vacuum leak intake manifold probably . If both P0171 & P0174 were back could be fuel pump low flow or restricted fuel filter . or O2 sensor problem or mass airflow sensor. Suggest you take it to a qualified repair shop to have it diagnosed .

Ford Windstar 1996 Trouble Codes P0171, P0141, P0161, and P0174

Bank one is toward the front of the vehicle. Sounds like the heated oxygen sensors have gone bad. The Oxygen Sensors are located in the exhaust pipe and require a special socket to remove and replace.
