First off.... You have to make sure it IS getting fuel. Are you sure the fuel pump is getting 12volts... the fuel filter is installed in the right direction? Have you disconnected the supply line at the throttle bodt to verify fuel pressure and volume? If it starts with ether... there is definately a fuel supply issue from the tank

You have either no/low fuel pressure or the fuel injector is not working allowing fuel to enter the engine

That diaphragm, is that the MAF sensor? Do you have any trouble codes? Would help to look at sensor information with a scanner, that is if you can get it running again. Try changing the coolant temp. sensor- ECT. Maybe the pcm doesn't know engine is cold, and is not enriching the mixture for cold start? I would also go ahead and check fuel pressure, just to be sure it is adequate.

Replace the throttle position sensor

Posted on Apr 11, 2015

Testimonial: "thought of that too, so I adjusted it slightly forward to see if it would make a difference since I didn't have a meter with me at the time (not my car, second person to have hands on it) so you know how that goes......"

I have a 97 geo metro 4 cyl engine the other day broke down the wrecker driver said sounds like fuel pump is bad. I replaced pump and filter still would not start. getting fire. Last night I started it...

first check fuses. (test them)
then check for spark at all 4 cylinders. good.?
if not timed correctly (spark) with timing light, then the cam belt slipped. (oops not changed at 60k, oops)
if all that is good engine runs on test fuel, does it?
if yes, you lost fuel.

Where is the fuel pump and fuel filter located on a 95 geo metro lsi

Lay down along side the car by the drivers door. Look under the car and there is the fuel filter. It's strange by that's where it's located. Is your car a 1.3 L 4 cyl ? I know those engines like that back of my hand if you need further help.

97 geo metro replaced fuel pump, has new timing belt, gets spark to plugs will run with ether sprayed in carb but wont stay running, has new water pump, new fuel pump relay, ...someone said check the ECM...

The cam sensor controls the injector pulse. No cam signal = no fuel. Also these cars are known for wires chaffing through on the injector harness. If any of the wires are shorted out it will kill all the injectors and result in a no fuel no start situation. Check the wiring first, normally a no cam signal will set a code and a check engine light. Make sure the fuses are good also. Hope this helps.

My 92 2000nx starts, idles, and responds to throttle in park.as soon as i put it in drive it wont pull acts like it looses 2 cyl.the kicker is if baby the throttle it will pull up to 1800-2000rpm or until it...

Maybe the transmission is shot? or the torque converter? If the shaft wont turn in the transmission then that would kill the motor no matter how much power you have.

Geo Metro 1994, diagnose no fuel presure problem.

Quite a few things can cause a car to die after idling for awhile, but if you have verified that the fuel pressure is actually dropping when the motor dies, the likely culprits are:
1) Electric fuel pump in the gas tank is bad
2) The fuel pressure regulator (on the throttle body) is bad
3) An electrical problem in the power to the fuel pump (like a bad fuel pump relay or lose ground wire to the relay's circuit)
