Yes there called fuseable lines .Resistence wire like a fuse .
Olny is on large AMP drawing CKTS starters alts soleiods most times are part of the positive battery cable connection but can be replaced in sections of new wire after testing for resistance . Keep in mind use resistance wire to replace the link or you could do lots of damage if it shorts again its their for a reason.

old post, and I feel your pain or others land here.
yes, The IMMO(alarm) on the car can kill the engine dead
some cut fuel, others cut cranking.
The 96 prizm/corolla. is what it is.
early cars were (daffy) and easy to hack ,done most.
if the immo lamp stick on what to do. lacking new alarm programming or repairs to same. how to HACK.
hack IMMO 101:
the answer can very by make of car and year, newer cars are impossible.
do not confuse words writting about 1991 car , on a 96
they are worlds apart(evolution, and LAWS)
your alarm box is called.
doors and locks and theft deterrent.
as expected its got a zillion pins, (big job it has)
but only 1 pin matters, (hacking mind set) pin A1 SRLY
im no genius, im just and electronics tech, retire. and can read this print , here at mitchells so can you.
the print shows that pin as P, my guess for Purple wire.
next is the starter pages.
it shows, what? it goes to the starter relay coil
and the non alarm car wire ground there is missing
so there is your fix, ground the purple wire there
or at pin 2 of relay start, ground that.
now the starter cranks forever, no matter what , deity willing.

The AM1 fuse kills the live relay power.
or pull battery neg lug, and all is off line, 0volts.
The GIG+DOME+HORN fuse kills dead the alarm box
or
pull the AM2 or the power fuel.
so will the 100 amp ALT fuse.

all this in the book , the schematic, all that.
just ground the P wire. end story

watch out for door locks, keep windows open , killing this alarm box. as it runs all door lock motor......... !!!

I have 05 kia rio. jump started dead battery but the cables were crossed and killed it instead. purchased new battery. car stuck in park. worked when screwdriver in override button but still won'

There is a large maxi-fuse between the battery and alternator. Its at least 100 amp or more. It may be in the cable at the battery, or in one of the fuse boxes.
You may also have damaged the key switch or the brake circuit.
You may have to get a book to get the wiring diagrams to check everything involved.

Where is the fuse for the Alternator located?

There is a 125 amp fuse in the relay box and a 10 amp cluster fuse in the instrument panel fuse box. That cluster fuse may be powering the field coil.

New alternator and battery installed still will not start

Not much to go on. Try replacing the start relay with another one in the fuse box. Thats if it won't crank. If it cranks need to see if you are getting fuel look down the TB carburetor looking thing on top of engine with key on and someone cranking engine. Put one of those testers in line with the spark plug wire it has a light inside that flashes when the engine fires. Or you could disconnect sparkplug end and hold on but it will knock you on your *** and could KILL you so don't do it

When i stoped the car 24 hr the battery cant start the car

Check the fuses inside your power distribution box by the battery. I think there's a small (like 15 amps or less) fuse there for the alternator. If they are good, problem could be a weak alternator, loose belt, or poor connections at battery, or a battery that won't hold a charge.

My brother just replaced the starter in my 2000 escalade and now it won't start...I seem to remember there was some kind of kill switch or button to push after the alternator was replaced... where is...

There is no "KILL" switch. something isnt hooked up correctly. or a relay is bad/ fuse? I hope the starter wasnt replaced for no reason? Be sure IGN A fuse is good,(under hood fuse box) CRANK fuse, (in dash fuse panel), STARTER RELAY (in under hood fuse box) , battery good? connections tight? shifter in PARK?

On my 94 jeep im having an electrical problem, something is killing my battery and i checked the alternator and my starter and i can not find the solution something is killing my battery rapidly please...

START THE VEHICLE, PUT A VOLTMETER ON THE BATTERY. THE VOLTAGE SHOULD READ 13.90 TO 14.80. IF THAT IS OK, THERE MAY BE A BATTERY DRAIN. TURN OFF EVERY SWITCH IN THE CAR.CLOSE ALL THE DOORS. MAKE SURE ALL THE COURTESY LIGHTS ARE GOING OUT. & THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT LIGHT. RAISE THE HOOD. DISABLE ANY UNDER HOOD LIGHTS. DISCONNECT THE NEG. CABLE FROM THE BATTERY. PUT A 12 VOLT TEST LIGHT, ONE END ON THE NEG BATTERY POST & THE OTHER END ON A GOOD GROUND { METAL }. IF THE LIGHT COMES ON THERE IS A BATTERY DRAIN. NO LIGHT , NO DRAIN. IF IT'S ON, ONE AT A TIME PULL THE FUSES OUT OF THE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX. IF THE LIGHT STAYS LIT, PUT THE FUSE BACK. DO THIS WITH ALL THE FUSES BIG & SMALL. IF THE LIGHT STAYS LIT, DISCONNECT THE ALTERNATOR. THEY CAN CHARGE THE BATTERY WHILE RUNNING, & DRAIN WHEN STOPPED.

Did you find out a solution to your problem? I have a 1996 trooper that is showing most of the same symptoms that you have. I'm curious as to your fix. Was it simply a bad ground?
