Yes, its attached to torque converter at rear and timing chain in front. It would be way easier to do out of car

Can 2008 ford f350 6.4 crank without transmission?

strange question
as to think why the transmission would be missing

motor will crank with the starter motor if transmission has failed

automatic transmission has a neutral safety switch
if that is faulty the starter may not crank

if a stand alone motor
starter motor will need to be bolted on and spaced to match the flywheel teeth

spacing has to be exact replacement for the missing gearbox housing thickness

My bottom end is knocking. Whats best repair or replace?

Depends on the engine. If there are a lot of them out there($300 to $400 range), it might be to your advantage to get one with lower miles than yours.

I cannot find my igition module olsmobile cutlass1993

you don`t say if this is 4 or 6 cylinder motor. if its a 4 the module is bolted on the back of the motor firewall side with the ignition coils attached to it. note the crank sensor is fastened to the module and sticks into the motor so when you pull the ignition module the crank sensor will come out with it. on a 6 its located at the front of the motor(rad side) near the bottom of the motor and the coil packs are fastened on top of the module, and has electrical plugs connected to it. the module is bolted to engine with 3 bolts and the coils come off with the module. its easier to remove the assembly from under the car.

Replace the timing belt and the car will not crank

Always crank motor over by hand with a ratchet or breaker bar before attempting to start with key. You can very well ruin or lock up your motor if the timing is incorrect before you try to start with key. If its locked up, unhook battery. Place ratchet and socket on crank pully. rotate in reverse and then try to rotate forward. If there is anything holding the motor from turning by hand, pull timing belt and make sure everything is aligned correctly and try to crank by hand again 2 or 3 revolutions. If tight or locked, then motor needs inspected for bent, jammed valves, broken pistons.

2003 dodge neon parked for 1yr fuel evaporated put fuel injectors not recieving fuel wont start

Put a fuel pressure tester on fuel rail port, should be around 50 PSI,no pressure, sounds like your fuel pump in the tank is stuck, you should here a buzz for 2-3 seconds when the key/igntion is turn to on, no buzz , smack the bottom of tank while someone cranks the engine over to lossen the motor in the pump, if this fails, you need to replace the pump. GOOD LUCK. RDJRP.

You need to replace the crank arm on the motor and either replace the bracket under it or bend the tab back up on the bracket so the crank arm can contact it so the wipers stop in the right place.

Where is the crankshaft postion sensor on a 2.7L 2003 sebring?

On the front of the motor at the bottom where the crank shaft comes out of the motor, the one with the largest pully, it will be mounted on the outside and has 3 or 4 wires going to it. If you remove and replace it make sure you get the correct air gap or it won't work.

2002 taurus SEL-5 engine codes to go with light and problems

Cylinders 2, 3 have coil packs change out located on back of motor. you will have to take the upper intake off to get to them. Very easy to do. #2 center plug on back of motor #3 is on drivers side of motor. Crank sensor you will have to remove tire on car passenager side next look at crank pulley on left side of block you will se two wires the heat cover running to it.
Change these first it might correct the O2 sensor problem.
