Like Ray said. Check the battery first. If the battery is good, replace the ignition switch. Bad connections on the inside of it.

You probably have a dead battery. If it's more than 5 years old and you live in a temperate climate, get a new one. If you live in place with a harsh climate, such as hard winters or extremely hot temperatures, replace it at 4 years. Otherwise, it may be a simple ground wire from your under hood fuse box that may be corroded. Use a wire brush and clean up the terminals before reconnecting the battery and and ground connections.

so what you mean is it wont turn over? do the lights dim in the start mode of ignition switch? sounds like a few hard taps on the starter and maybe it will turn over,, might be you have a bad starter.

2000 1.8t vw passat wont start

There are many possible issues that can cause the problem you are experiencing. A bad starter, a bad ignition switch, relay, wiring circuit for ignition / cranking.

If you are mechanically inclined, I recommend you begin to test all components to narrow your possible problem.

My car wont start and my windows dont work

Check battery connections and cables. Ground may be broken. Remove cables and clean battery posts then reconnect cables.
Check ignition switch, replace as needed.

Dashlights and high beams wont come on

Play with the ignition switch,If you can disable the starter when the engine is running and can do it in a very safe manner, this way you can turn the ignition and check to see if a ignition electrical part is failing, If you cant disable the starter just be careful how you turn the ignition you are only ruling out the ignition switch electrical part as possible problem or even the solution

It wont start ot turn over when you turn the key it dont even make a sound

Do any of the interior light work? Does the radio work? If the answer is no, then the first thing to check is the battery and its connections.
If lights, radio and other things work, then you could have a problem with ignition switch, starter solenoid, starter or a wiring issue.

My car wont start acts like battery is dead but it is not i have checked. Nothing turns on and the key was stuck in the ignition, got the key out need to still know what is wrong and why it wont start

Sounds like your ignition switch is the culprit, but you will need to have it checked by a mechanic to be sure. Other possibilities are the starter, fusible link, and the battery. Even if accessories such as radio, lights, etc. work, the battery may still be too weak to perform its toughest job - starting the vehicle. I would pull the battery first, and take it to a repair shop for testing.

2004 Grand Am wont start, doesnt even make a clicking sound...

This sounds like the Ignition Starter Switch. It should be on the left side of the steering column.....right under the steering wheel. If you go to an auto parts store they should be able to show you what the part looks like.

Thanks,
Andrew
