How to replace a rear brake cylinder and new brake shoes?

remove rear wheel , pull off the brake drum , you may have to use two flat blade screwdrivers one eachside to prize the drum off, clamp the flexable brake hose behind the brake assembly so fluid does'nt drainout,at the rear of the back plate you will need to disssconnect the hand brake cable usually a spring needs compressing by hand and then are able to disconnect the cable from its seating, take a picture of the brake shoe assembly before dismantling it so you know where the components go when re building, there will be spring loaded pin holding the shoes in place ,with a pair of pliers push and twist the flat washer so the pin head comes through the retaining washer you should then be able to lift away the shoe's and mechanism , next at the rear of the cylinder disconnect the brake pipe and the two retaining screws , fittings is the reverse , if you can get a workshop manual for the vehicle this will give step by step guide a tips for that exact vehicle, once back to gether unclamp the brake hose and bleed the brakes , take your time and if not sure if it looks right have a look at the picture or alternatively take the other wheel and drum off to check good luck

How to change high mount brake light bulb in a 2002 lincoln navigator

Instructions
    • 1 Open one of the rear doorsicon1.png of the LS. Position yourself on your knees in the back seat, facing the rear deck or rear dash.
    • 2 Remove the cover from the high-mount brakeicon1.png light assembly, by hand. Pull the cover toward the front of the vehicle. Do not pull extremely hard, or you will break the clips that mount through the deck from the trunk.
    • 3 Pull the old light bulbsicon1.png out of the high-mount assembly. Wrap the new bulbs in a paper tower prior to picking them up. Insert new bulbs into the assembly, by hand. Do not touch the bulb lenses with your hands directly.
    • 4 Install the high-mount cover onto the rear deck and push the cover toward the rear glass to lock it in place.

196 Tacoma wheel feels like it is locked up

Pull the hand brake. Block the rear wheels and transmission in neutral. Jack up the front wheels, first rotate the right wheel and if it slightly resists, its normal.Similarly check the left wheel also. If any one of the front wheels is hard to rotate, remove the Tyre and service the caliper assembly by greasing the pins with graphite grease. Also check the piston of the caliper assembly if it is not stiff. If so, free it up or replace the caliper kit with a genuine one on both sides. Always service both the front and rear brake system simultaneously.
If both the front wheels are jammed, the probable cause is the brake master cylinder assembly which need to be replaced with a new one.
If both of the front wheels are found to be normal, lower the front wheels and lift up the rear wheels. If any of the rear wheels are found to be partially of fully jammed, readjust the rear brake system or hand brake cable.

How to change the left brake light rear...thanks

Hello there,

To begin, open the rear door. What holds the light assembly is 2 bolts which are either Phillips or torx? Remove those, then there are retaining clips that hold the assembly in there good, you just have to force the light out. Then to get the bulb out just twist on the plug which the blown bulb is attached.

The "clips" are actually more like "spears" or "snaps". If you are replacing the left lamp (brake, backup, turn signal) place one hand each at the top and bottom of the assembly then in somewhat of a jiggling motion use the hand at the top to "turn" the assembly from the 12 o'clock position back towards the 9 o'clock position. With a couple/few tries it should come loose. Repeat the same on the right side only go from the 12 o'clock position to the 3 o'clock position. I would recommend to replace both sides at the same time and the bulbs usually/many times come 2/pack.

Good luck...

My 2005 Tacoma was hit in the rear and since then not rear lights

You did right so far. Once you have lowered the tailgate and removed the upper and lower 10mm bolts the tail light assembly should be loose and moving a little bit. There are only 2 push-in plastic posts holding it at this point now. Then you have to pull back the assembly firmly, hit on the external side of the assembly with the palm of your hand and it will pop out. DO NOT try to pry with a screwdriver or any other tools.

Disconnect wires connections, replace burned or broken bulbs, make test. If it doesn't work check if the wiring has been affected by the accident.

Hope it will help
