Engine sputtering idle

Possibly a leaky injector bleeding down the fuel pressure. First check fuel pressure at shutoff, start, and then when it's smooth. If it changes a lot, you would have to raise the fuel rail and power on the pump to see what is happening.

On Saturday my car would turn over. the battery

Nothing you've you said seem out of the ordinary.
You do need to remove ALL the corrosion from the battery and then put Vaseline over the terminals so that it doesn't happen again.
The battery is not fully charged - it can take awhile, and depends how far you drive - and the corrosion can keep the car from charging it when you driving.
SO - clean it up and then charge it and it should start better.

Car skips and sputters and dies

I would check your o2 sensor. Take it yo your local parts store, usually they will hook up and read off your codes for free telling you the sensor that is bad.
