If you have electronic/air ride suspension there will be air lines going to your your shocks. You will also have an air ride suspension light that may illuminate. Russell is right... Contact any GM dealer and give them the last 8 digits of your VIN number to verify your question

HMMM. Sounds like you may have a seized/frozen shock. Have the suspension checked before it becomes a costly repair

  • Anonymous Apr 11, 2015

Ok thanks.. i will make sure to have that checked out

If you can see wires going to top of shocks you might. If there are no switches in passenger compartment , proably not. The best way to get all your questions answered at once and learn more about your vehicle is to ask chevrolet if they can decode your vin # and print it out for you

Im just wondering because the guy I asked from a parts shop told me the front pair will cost $500-$700. Did some research and found out that it wont cost anything near that price. Unless, I miss understood him!

SOURCE: is there a heavy duty coil over shock I can use in

If you mean as a substitute for the Air ride there are conversion kits. Just look in your Browser and search for terms like "Lincoln Air ride conversions", "Rear spring kits for Navigators", and so on.

There are also shocks with Booster springs which can increase load capacity.

In addition, several companies do repair the Rubber bags and you can get what you need from Salvage yards to put your ride back to original shape.

On some of the cars with Air ride, I believe it was $300 minimum for a conversion, for just the coiled shocks, I believe $120 a pair. Anything for a Lincoln Logo you will pay more and often. I have not used any of these kits, so I can not say how good they are or what the Install price is. The Web is the best place to price out these parts.

4 lo is all the way forward toward the firewall or engine compartment, 4 high is all the way back toward seats. the second position forward from the seat would be 2 high the 3 position forward from the seat would be a nuetral position for the transfercase.

Can I convert my 2x4 2003 silverado to 4x4?

I can't imagine going to all that much work when buying a 4x4 would be easier and probably cheaper given the availability of 4x4 trucks.
One thing you did not mention that came to mind was anti-lock brakes.
As for the computer, a transmission with a transfer case may not work in a system without the transfer case. Not sure on that point.

How do i remove radiator

What type of engine is in this car. i can tell you this, the radiator removal on this car is not an easy one, let me see if engine size makes a difference.okay here we go,remove the negative cable from the jumper terminal or battery.
1) drain cooling system.
2) remove radiator upper cross member.
3) remove the upper and lower radiator hoses
4) remove the transmission hoses from cooler
5) remove oil lines from cooler if it has them,
6) remove connector from cooling fans and then remove fans.
7) remove the a/c condenser bolts located on the front of radiator.
8) remove fastener holding bracket for transmission cooler lines to left side of radiator. left side is driver side.all views are done from inside car.
9) lift a/c condenser upward to disconnect from radiator and then set back down on lower cross member. no need to open or discharge a/c system,
10) lift radiator up and out , careful not to damage lines or condenser.
I will enclose a few pictures to help you locate a few parts to remove.5_28_2012_11_24_21_pm.gif5_28_2012_11_24_43_pm.gif5_28_2012_11_26_11_pm.gif5_28_2012_11_26_27_pm.gif

Need to know best shocks to put on the truck

The best shocks are the ones that will handle the loads you want to give the truck. Normal driving and occasional loads can be handled quite well with a regular heavy duty shock. Most people with trucks can get by with this kind of a set up.If the ride is a little stiff when empty throw a bit of weight in the back. No name or generic heavy duty shocks will not last as long as name brands so let your budget be your guide. Cheaper shocks need replacing more often.
If you have an assortment of jobs to do with your truck, ranging from daily driver to 2 or 3 weeks of hauling a trailer to bringing home a load of top soil then you may want to look at an adjustable shocks or coil overs. These can give you the security of being able to handle the heavy loads when you need to but will compromise ride quality when empty although the adjustables wouldn't be as bad for ride. Hope this helps.

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help.

You are on the right track with a heavy duty battery. You have a diesel engine. It has a high compression. If you replace your starter with a heavy duty one, that should clear up your problem.

If I can be of further help let me know.
