Question about Cars & Trucks
Serial number is 10609273. The on-off switch has been intermittent for some time and has now failed completely. This may be due to dirt getting inside the radio so I want to open it and try to clean it. I have tried to open the case using my Fixya spudgers but it is firmly fixed at each corner and there are no screw heads or other fixings visible.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: error code er 2
I dont want to guess a solution for this however, ERR2 represents EJECT. The description of this error is "The Eject is not available". Possibilities are, jammed mechanism or sticky eject button.

The most likely root cause of the problem has been determined, and its step by step fix is also detailed if you have the skills to do that yourself. See the excellent detailed website posting by Dan Jensen on the Jag-lovers.org site forums.jag-lovers.org under avsn.php?1169101j41 . He describes what goes wrong in the $2800 ABS control electronic board, and that simply re-soldering a few heavy wires to the board will fix the trouble. But it requires some mechanical work to get that module out, and then some more work to saw the plastic case apart to get to that circuit board. - Best regards - MHH

SOURCE: 98 Jetta won't crank
is it a manual tranny. sometimes the safety switch that tells the car not to start if the clutch isnt pressed go bad or the plug on the clutch lever pops off. the switch is under the dash connected to the clutch lever the plug is on the other end that pushed the switch pin in.

By switching the lever you locked the inside trunk release, you will need to put lever back. as far as the trunk you may need to remove the rear seat, pop lower part out and then remove the bolts to the top half of the seat then try to reach the lever so it will open from the inside. i've found that many of these cars with the pop lever inside have sticking trunk locks from not being used, what you do first is spary lock good, with wd40 or pb blaster then slide key in and out and try to turn this may take a whhile but it works then tumbler will free up, you just have to keep spraying inside lock and working the key.
