I would suggest you get a Haynes manual for your car. Most auto parts shops have a good stock of them, If they don't have yours, order it on line through Amazon. The book will pay for itself over your use of information. The other thing to be considered is a fault code reader... there are some cheap ones ($100) that work quite well. You can use it on other cars and trucks too. The temperature sensor will have a wire coming from it with a connector,,, unplug the connector carefully so as not to break the brittle plastic. (Plastic of older cars and trucks tends to break easily, if mishandled roughly... look at the connector and see how it unlatches first.) Temperature simply unscrew off using a ratchet with a Deep Socket in most cases. When replacing, get the new one in firmly, but don't over-tighten... it is easy to over-tighten using a ratchet and socket with an extension bar as the extension bar adds leverage making if seem easier to apply just "a bit more." Just don't over do it. You can always check for any leak by puttng a clean, flattened cardboard box under, start up your car and then slide it out to look for spots. If necessary, tighten it up... just a tad more.

what is anti-theft light doing? It should come on solid for about 2 sec after you turn the key on then turn off. If it is flashing after this then it is not seeing the computer chip in the key and you have a PATS problem.

You should check the thermostat. There must be a sensor connector on the thermostat housing. If you bypass that connector and the fan runs, then the thermostat is damaged and needs to be replaced. If you follow the radiator hose you will reach the thermostat housing.

Changing a thermastat on a 2003 Caravan

the 1993 caravan had two engines offered a 2.5L 4cylinder and a 3.3L v6........on the 2.5L the thermostat is located on the front of the cylinder head were the top radiator hose attach's.
remove the top hose were it attach's to the thermostat housing and the remove the thermostat housing and lift out the thermostat and replace with the new one making sure the spring on the thermostat is facing the engine replace the thermostat housing and top radiator hose and remove the bleeder screw from the top of the thermostat housing and fill radiator with new antifreeze. when you see antifreeze coming out the bleeder hole replace the bleeder screw.

The 3.3L v6 also has the thermostat at the front of the cylinder head were the top radiator hose attach's the thermostat housing the procher is the same except for bleeding the radiator, to bleed the cooling system remove the coolant temp. sensor it is located just below the thermostat housing and fill radiator with new antifreeze until the antifreeze starts coming out the coolent tempt sensor hole them reinstall the sensor and top of radiator.........GOOD LUCK

What do i need to remove to change the thermostat on my colorado 2006

Follow the top radiator hose back to the thermostat housing and remove the two bolts that hold it down. remove and replace the thermostat. be sure to clean both mating surfaces and put in a new gasket or sealer (at your local auto supply store, RTV sealant) and replace housing. The spring end faces down. Be sure not to use too much torque - only as much as needed to remove bolts.

My coolant light come on and my tempeture gage shot to the red zone in my 2006 chrysler 300 can I reslove this matter or do I have to take it to the dealership

Simply replace your heat sensor located next to your thermostat housing on the top of your motor. Also its a good idea to check your coolant level sensor located within the plastic overflow bucket. Both can cause this un-reliable reading on the heat gauge. Be sure that the thermostat is not sticking shut or open as it to can cause this problem as well as the cooling fan not comming on when it should located by your radiator.
