Question about 2007 Chevrolet Optra 1.6

3 Answers

2004 Chevrolet Optra trouble code PO341. Changed the cam position sensor,New.Still getting same code.

I checked all electrical connectors and grounds, inspected wires to the cam sensor. I did not have the schematics to test continuity between cam sensor and firewall connector so did not ,but, wires after taking off electrical tape appeared fine. I may have to perches a GM repair manual to identify the problem myself to avoid going to the dealer to fix it. Working on a small income.

Put GM P0341 into Google are watch a few films on it on Youtube. It seems to be common. The wiring connector may be your problem. You'll need a multi-function meter to see if that's it. Fluke makes good one for not much money.

2002 chevrolet trailblazer diagnostic code p0013, p0014

Two possibilities, poor electrical connection at the cam position actuator sensor (CPAS) connector or a clogged CPAS. Check connector first for oil residue. The CPAS itself is prone to clog if the oil is not changed at the proper intervals. Unfortunately, the CPAS is a little difficult to remove since access to one of its bolts requires the removal of the power steering pump.

Po341

This P0341 code basically means that the car detected a problem with the camshaft signal. The camshaft position sensor sends a specific signal to the car for Top Dead Center on the compression stroke as well as signals indicating the position of the cam sensor.

Most likely repair is to replace the cam sensor itself. If that doesn't cure it, come on back and we'll get a little dirt with the next possible solution.

1998 vw 2.0 starts runs but surges advance throttle to aprox 2000 rpm dies? codes po322 po341 p1543 p1565 maf disc onnected get code po102

Throttle position sensor TPS is not behaving. Codes p1543 and p1565 indicate the throttle position is too low... as if disconnected. The other codes are as a result of the EECU noting the disparity between the throttle input signal and the expected input from the engine speed and distributor/cam sensor. Check that the connector and wiring to the TPS. If these are OK then it is the TPS that needs to be changed.

For pontiac grand prix what does trouble code

Appears to be the code for the camshaft position sensor, or cam sensor circuit. Around $35-45.00 for the part at an auto parts store. Have the part replaced. And take it from there. Might be a good thing to replace the spark plugs and wires too.

Trouble codes p0340 and p0014 for a chevy trailblazer engine keeps either idling up real fast or trys to die

You need to check the cam phazer and see if it's damaged. Lots of the time it leaks oil into the connector and messes up the wires. Also I've seen the oil control screens come out of the phazer and go into the engine, which will also set the coeds. If I were you I'd pull the phazer out and see if all 3 of the oil control screens are there. My bet is one will be missing. Make sure to change the oil too. You may get lucky and it will have made it to the oil pan? Other wise I wouldn't worry too much about it. Most of the time it will not cause any engine problems. Good luck, oh and you do have to pull the power steering pump off to get the phazer out. But you can just take the bolts out for the pump and let it fall down so you can get the phazer out!

Code p0340 need location on 2004 sebring 2.7 v6

P0340 OBD-II Trouble Code
Technical Description
Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction

What does that mean? This indicates that a problem was detected in the camshaft position sensor circuit. Since it says circuit, that means the problem could lie in any part of the circuit - the sensor itself, the wiring, or the PCM. Don't just replace the CPS (camshaft position sensor) and think that will definitely fix it.

Symptoms
Symptoms can include:
  • Hard starting or no start
  • Rough running / misfiring
  • Loss of engine power

Causes A code P0340 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
  • a wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken
  • the camshaft position sensor may have failed
  • the PCM may have failed
  • there exists an open circuit
  • the crankshaft position sensor may have failed

Possible Solutions With a P0340 OBD-II trouble code, diagnosis can be tricky at times. Here are some things to try:
  • Visually inspect all the wiring and connectors in the circuit
  • Check for continuity in the circuit wiring
  • Check the operation (voltage) of the camshaft position sensor
  • Replace the camshaft position sensor as required
  • Check the crankshaft position circuit as well
  • Replace circuit wiring and/or connectors as required
  • Diagnose/replace the PCM as required

Also, the cams/crank are out of alignment, thats why you are getting a cam position code (P0340). For more details about your model, you can visit autozone.com (free register)

Hope helped whit this (remember rated this help) Good luck.
