I would have the transmission checked, it sounds like it is not shifting. The transmission is controlled by computer and it can sense problems and return fault codes for what it finds on the test and in its memory.

The first thing i would do is to make sure theres compression in the cylinder thats misfiring, if the compression is good then remove the control module and have it tested, lots of autopart stores will test the module, napa auto parts does testing, if that tests good then take a look at the injector and the connector, make sure the wiring to the injector is good, if thats good then i would swap injectors with another cylinder and see if the misfire moves to that cylinder, if it moves then you know its an injector. if the compression is low then i would do a decarbonizing with a motor vac machine, this cleans the pistons , valves and the injectors, hope this helps.

about $200 in parts,,,you can not do this at home,,,,,you need special tools to press yoke on and off and even then sometimes they bend,,,not a easy job,,,,,,i am a master tech and worked at saturn for 8 years and i hated doing these

Pry up gently underneath the front of the "U"shaped piece around the shifter. It lifts up at the front and then once it clears the shift indicator, it will be free. Put the truck in neutral and apply the park brake. Disconnect the switches, lighter and the mirror switch.
Remove the screws holding the cubby behind the shifter -there are four of them. Two of them hold on the panel around the radio.
now use a small screwdriver or pry bar (clip tool is ideal if you have one) to pry underneath the top of the grey/black plastic bezel that surrounds the radio. Do not pry around the radio, pry at the top near the windshield at the front of the bezel. just lift it enough to get your fingers under it and then pull it toward the rear of the truck, and slightly up. the entire bezel will be removed, and you can replace the radio unit.
