Question about 2003 Subaru Impreza

Why does reverse need double clutching to engage? This problem still exists even after changing clutch kit! I have a 2003 subaru impreza station wagon.

As reverse is the only non syncro gear, I am thinking of a problem in the crank shaft spigot busk/bearing that is keeping the input shaft turning even though the clutch is dis engaged
It is the one thing that most people forget about when replacing clutches.
It gets dry , breaks up or the dirt around the opening gets between the shaft and the bearing causing the problem

Your shifter is it loose when you put it in gear does it move more than a inch bushing might be worn out so it makes it hard to put it in reverse how your clutch pedal do you have to mush play in it might have air in the clutch hydrolic need bleeding

Hi, my wrx impreza 2000 .. the clutch slipping and a burning smell comes from it.. how bad is it and can it be fixed

It is bad and the clutch assembly will need to be replaced and the flywheel machined smooth if possible, a huge job requiring special tools and a high skill level. If you do have the tools and you think you have the skill let me know.

Where is the clutch master cylinder in a 1996 Subaru Impreza 2ltr Sportswagon?

To remove or bleed the clutch master, you will need to first remove the battery and the air box. After, you will find the clutch pedal assembly and finally the clutch master cylinder.

Hallo i have 1993 impreza turbo wrx EJ20, just realised i cant engage reverse gear until i switch off the car! i now suspect that i need to replace the entire clutch system, any advice on the best...

Ebay usually has the best prices on whatever clutch you decide to buy. Before you do though, there should be an adjustment at the clutch pedal. If you get a couple wrenches and unlock the clutch master pushrod adjuster nuts and effectively lengthen the pushrod, you can probably get a little more life out of the clutch you have now.

Ac compressor clutch does not engage

to prevent damage to the air conditioning system there is a "low pressure switch" located on the condenser near the low pressure hose (large one) .. if the refrigerrant (R134A) gets too low then the clutch will be blocked from activating by that switch .. you can have your system tested and recharged or you can do that yourself .. the R134A is available at auto parts stores .. some come with a gague that is required for proper charge .. if you dont already have a gage then yoiu will need that one ... recharge kits often come with instructions .. other less likely but possible problems could be a fuse or bad AC clutch relay. sometimes damaged wiring or bad clutch will be the problem but much more likely just low fluid ..

My 1996 Impreza has no cruise control and I would like to buy a kit to install. Subaru does not make or list it anymore. I've searched everywhere and had no luck. Can you help?

JC Whitney has them. There are models that handle CLUTCH systems, by measuring RPMs and any sudden change kicks system off.
