Question about Volkswagen Cars & Trucks
Need help figuring this out without throwing a bunch of money in it drives decent. but I would hate to continue to drive it and hurt something else I understand it might be coil pack but would that effect the cat or could it be a bad cat and effecting the injectors and misfires
It's not the cat messing with the coil pack or plugs. First I would check for vacuum leaks, especially lines around the 1 and 2 cylinders. Then pull and look at the plugs. Look for white, brown, and black burns. Also the gap. Replace if necessary. Then the plug wires. then the coils. Look for white burn marks on the coil pack. This indicates a cracked coil housing. Just a note... The cats could still be bad. You would need to check the O2 readings on a scanner to tell for sure. But if the 420 code goes away, it was from the ignition side.

Ok your 301,302 thats a misfire cylinder 1and cylinder 2 spark plug coil pack you should get away with that but the 420 that a cathalytic code me i would change the spark plug first try it after if its not missing that problem is good me i would clear the code and try it like that if it doesnt come back good for if not the convertor is a problem im gonna add a video on how to clean that cathalytic try it before changing it p.s if you got a 301 302 your car engine most shake 2 cylinder missing if it doesnt shake or miss try clearing the code first you dont no maybe work was done on it and the code werth clear the video is exactly the same code as your but its a bit extreme you could by seafoam and run it in the trottle body directly its gonna smoke but its gonna clean it

First try using fuel injector cleaner in in gas tank. All three of those codes can be caused by dirty or clogged fuel injectors. Another reason for those codes could be leaking intake gaskets, but not as likely.
