I own a 2004 Dodge Durango. I am trying to disable my factory-set security system. Both of my key fobs no longer work because the battery brackets that hold the batteries in place are defective,(not just dead batteries). When I unlock my vehicle with the key and open the door, the alarm sounds until I can put the key in the ignition and turn the ignition on. (Very embarrassing) I was hoping to find a fuse that runs just the security system, but have been unable to find the schematics for the fuse panel. I also can't afford to purchase new key fobs at $150 each, plus programming. Can you help?
I do not think it is the fobs. Sound like a program glitch in the security system.
It happened to mine too. I just soldered the connection back together
Had the same problem and used small amount of super glue on the battery bracket and it worked like new. Hope this works for you.
You may have to remove system, sometimes located under dash at drivers side, need to remove power wire and wires going in need to connected to wires going out (ie)door locks etc. sometimes the box has a wiring diagram
