Truck started ran a few minutes and quit now wont start

Hi

This is most likely to be one of two possibilities; lack of fuel or no spark.
I would check the spark first as it is the easiest to do. Take off a plug lead and if you have an old plug clip it on the live lead and earth the plug thread to the motor somewhere (I use a bit of fine wire to hold in place). Get someone to wind over the motor by turning the key and observe for a nice blue spark on the plug you have added. I open the plug gap right up quarter of an inch or so to make it easier to see. A healthy ignition will fire this ok.
If you have a good spark check fuel delivery.
I note you have fuel in the tank, but is the pump delivering fuel ok? Maybe blockage in fuel filter (water from tank can clog filter), is the pump working ok. See if you can take off the fuel line and wind it over to discharge into a vessel to see volume being delivered (take special care not to spill on motor and cause fire, or waste price of fuel these days cannot waste)

Good luck

V6 hard to start.replaced coils sparkplugs . check relays and they check ok put new crank senser in still wont start. no dash lights work and there no fuel pressure on rail.and the motor cranks good and...

I think you've identified your own problem. In your description of the problem, you indicate "no fuel pressure on rail".....

First things first, try replacing the fuel filter. If this doesn't do the trick, make sure the fuel pump is actually pumping (you indicated that you hot wired it with a 12 volt DC supply and it ran). Running is one thing....pumping fuel another. To properly identify issue you need to know the cranking fuel pump pressure. If you can get it to start it would also be a very good idea to check out the fuel pressure regulator.

When you turn the key to the "ON" position (don't crank it, just to to the position where it would run) do you hear a few seconds worth of pump motor activity?

If it tried to start when you introduced fuel into the breather, then I think it's safe to say you have some sort of fuel delivery issue.

1991 no start.but have fuel and fire..

Your ignition switch is good if you are getting spark to the plugs. You need to find out why your not getting fuel through the injecters.Check your relays again . Do not crank engine over ,but turn key on and off 10 times to charge the fuel lines. But I think you need to check your wireing and get your instrument cluster working first.

Car turns over but won't crank. spark plugs are

Turning over and cranking are often the same thing, so Im not sure what your asking... Do you mean the car turns over but wont fire, or start? If thats the case and as you say the plugs are getting spark, then your problem is gonna be the fuel pump 99% of the time... Try this little trick, have a friend hit the fuel tank from under the car with a NON metalic hammer (ie a rubber or wooden mallet or chunk of solid wood etc) while your trying to start the engine. If the car fires up, then dont risk doing that trick again as it probably wont work twice, and get it to your mechanic to get a new fuel pump installed. If it doesnt work, (it really is a 50/50 thing) then get it towed and have the fuel pump changed as its still probably the problem...

Changed motor now car will not start

the computers that tell the engine when to fire are sometimes different even with the same motors - replace the sensors from the old onto the new motor and i bet it will run -

also there are sensors other than just on the engine itself - also check all ground wires - and recheck all wires and make sure none are hanging without being connect - also check ur main fuse in the fuse box under the hood -

Turns over but wont start.

Start by checking if it's a fuel or fire problem. Take a plug wire off and turn motor over.If there is fire, Take the hose going from the air cleaner to the throtle body off and spray a small amount of carb. cleaner in.If it's a fuel prob.,check the fuel pump relay (under the hood in a black box) (swap the relay out with another relay in the box ) If the relay is o.k., it's probly the fuel pump. If it;s a fireing prob., start with the coil and wires going to the coil.
