Check for coil/s operation
check for faulty distributor cap ( if it has one)
check for faulty rotor button
check for voltage at the coil from the ignition switch (should be 12 volts or 7.5 volts )
have the ignition module tested.

Not getting any fire

I would check the distributor. Check the plug/coil wires and maje sure they are not damaged. Check the rotor and the cap off the distributor. Make sure they are not damaged. Check the cam sensor as well. Because so many things can cause a car not to get fire, your best bet is trying to get a code from your car. This would help you pinpoint the problem. Everything but the sensor and distributor can be visually checked. If I didn't see anything, I would start with the distributor.

What is the firing order for a 1977 Dodge 360 and 318. Can I get a picture of the firing order on the distributor?

The firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. I'll try to find a pic of the distributor layout although number "1" is usually embossed on the cap or on the distributor body.

Hope this helps!

the back firing sounds like to me that the spark plug wires are not in right position on distributor cap, firing on wrong cylinder, did you remove distributor or distributor cap?

Getting no fire to the plugs

Check the distributor and the distributor cap, check that there is no oil inside distributor rotor and that contacts are ok.
Check also battery contacts, if there is regular power in the rest of the car it is a distribution problem.
