They are usually replaced as one unit. Autozone should have them in stock. They have a warranty as well.

If you are talking idler pulleys, in some instances they have a circlip that can be removed and a new bearing pressed in. Unless you have gear and knowledge, most bearing shops sell the idler pulley complete for less that what it will cost to replace the bearing
Take the old pulley along and have it matched up
the diameter of the pulley is not critical unless it is way out
just the groove size or width of the flat part.

Rattling is most likely the original problem. I would say you have a bad bearing in one of your pulleys. Usually the A/C compressor one causes a loud rattle when it goes out, sometime the alternator one will also. Release tension on belt and try to wobble pulleys by hand to feel for slop in pulley bearings. If you find any significant slop, the pulley baering is most likely bad. (Your tesioner pulley itself can also be the culprit) sloppy pulley= bad bearing = drag= load on engine =bad idle and or kill motor.

Replacing rear main seal

To do this you can remove transmission in place, and get access from there, or you can take engine and transmssion out and do it that way..........either way you do it, i would suggest checking the clutch or torque converter whilst it is out

2004 gmc envoy. has a 6cyl and a serp belt. the center pully off set to the left (i think its a water pump) has a bad wobble and making a horrible noise. Not over heating and no leaks. should i just change...

If the fan is attached to it than it is the water pump making the noise and it will need to be replaced. If the fan clutch is not attached to it than it is either the idler pulley or the tensioner pulley. The tensioner is on the passenger side (left) of the front of the motor.
