Question about AC Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

AC stopped blowing, no air at all. I heard a clicking noise coming from under the console, but close to the passenger seat. I turned off the AC & clicking noise stopped. Checked fuses, all good.

SOURCE: Blowing cold air ,no heat

Not exactly certain, but sounds like you have a broken "blend door" or acuator malfunction

SOURCE: AC BLOWER NOT BLOWING

The resistor that controls the blower motor. it is a small gadget that has a 2 or 3 wire plug . Replacing the resistor should fix your problem. It is on or near the blower motor. Under the dash. Not easy to remove . But it can be. Please give thumbs up if helped.

The ac in my wife's Buick Century stopped blowing. When I turn it on I hear a clicking sound near the engine.

On this model you may have developed a leak at the AC compressor and the system is low on charge, that would account for the clicking. If the system is low replace the AC compressor in stead of repairing it., it is accessed through the wheel well liner on the passenger side and from under the car. You can buy rebuilt compressors for this car on eBay for cheap, have on on my own Buick and has been on there for years.

Is the compressor turning on an off quickly ?
Could be a low pressure switch or problem with the ac clutch.

I have a 1999 Cadillac Eldorado ETC. When I turn the heater on and bring it out the bi-level vents....The driver side blows heat and the passenger side blows ice cold....even with the air cond. turned...

the temperature door inside (there is two one for each side of car) is possibly broken if you turn the blower on low turn the temp on the passenger side from full hot to full cold or vise versa and listen closely for a clicking or snapping sound if this is heard you have a broken door in side then the dash has to come out the air conditioning has to be discharged of refrigerant which has to be done by a facility with a license. if no noise is heard it could be a control head or a motor but the most likely cause is a broken door.

'98 GMC Sierra is leaking water inside the cab on the passenger side when I have the A.C. turned on. I can see where the water is coming from, but I can't get it to stop leaking.

There is a drain under the vehicle under where the ac lines go into the vehicle cab',look directly below the ac lines,it is hard to find but it is there ,use compressed air ,like a air compressor or air tank, with a blow gun and blow the drain out,if it unclogs the drain,it will pour out like a water fall,if this was at all helpful, please rate thank you.

The sliding switch on the console is stuck in the cold position and the knob is pulled off. Use pliers to jiggle the switch as best you can. Feel under the center console and you probably will find the cable that is hooked up to the flapper. You'll know because when you jiggle the cold/heater switch at the upper console, the cable will move slightly. At the hookup of the cable to the flapper down under the console (passenger side) try to work the flapper loose to the open (or close) position. At the same time work the sliding switch (with pliers). The flapper will come loose and function properly. Try not to knock of the AC button like I did in the process. It flew off some where under the passenger seat. I'll find it sometime before summer. Ha.

That sounds like the Blend Door Actulator has decided to go loopy. I heard of people turning it to hot and getting cold, Normally when this bit goes it makes a click click noise
