Things happen like this all the time , but if its 2002 Lincon car its old from then to 2015 , so that might be the problem im allways a second answer person so , it also might be because the battery lights are out I would get that checked.

If you don't have a spare bulb you can swap the left and right side low beam bulbs. Just to tell you if it's a bulb or a fuse.
Then you'll know when to look at fuses.
Normally it's a bulb, but sometimes it's the fuse.
If it's not that then look at relays.
If that doesn't do it then look a wiring for broken or shorted wires.
Hope this helps.

Checked the bulbs. Didnt Chek the fuses because it seems weird that jus the right side is out I thought that both headlights run of the same relay.

  • Jeff Armer Apr 08, 2015

There is no relay , each bulb has it's own fuse an a control module turns them on ! These modules are on the SCP data communication network ! When you put it in reverse the transmission range switch inputs a voltage to the PCM - engine computer telling it that it is in reverse. The engine computer then sends a message to the ( REM ) rear electronic moduel .Then this module supply's a ground turning on the back up lights . Now isn't that cool !

  • Jeff Armer Apr 08, 2015

The low beams work about the same way just a different module ! but the fuse for the right side is in the central jucntion box, f2.09 , it's behind one of the kick panels , left , right don't know !

  • Anonymous Apr 09, 2015

I checked the fuse and it is not blown could there be a fuse in the trunk for the headlight

  • Jeff Armer Apr 09, 2015

No the head light fuse is in the central junction box ! low beam light fuse F2.09 If fuse's are good I don't know what else you can do see how this is controlled by the front electronic module ! it needs to be hooked up to a dealer scan tool to see if there are any codes in either moduel that controls these lights

  • Jeff Armer Apr 09, 2015

I thing more you could do is check voltage at the headlamp bulb , two wires ,one voltage an one is the module control . you could test it with a test light hooked up to battery positive ! turn on head lamps an probe the control side , test light should light !

  • Jeff Armer Apr 09, 2015

There is a lot going on here , the headlight switch sends a voltage input the microprocessor in the instrument cluster , which then sends a message on the serial data bus where the front electronic module recvices it an grounds the right low beam circuit !

  • Jeff Armer Apr 09, 2015

You need a good scan tool to see what is up any codes !

High Beams and Fog Lights on 2004 Pontiac Grand Am do not work

You can not have High Beams on and FOG LIGHTS at the same time. The Body Control Module controls this. You may have a bad Body control Module

I have a 1995 Ford Explorer Limited and the high beams work but the low beams and fog lights do not, please help....

These trucks are known for bad multifuction switches.
the switch that i talk of is the signal switch , the handle is the switch, it bolts to side of steering column . this switch controls the signals and the headlights and high /low beams. the other thing is the headlight switch connector, the connector some times goes bad and starts to melt or just comes out of the connector. you will need to remove the cover to steering column, the screws are located under the bottom cover in holes. remove cover and check connector and then test for power if you have power going into switch but not coming out then switch is bad.

the last thing is to make sure the bulbs are good , make sure the headlight bulbs are good , and also the driving light bulbs, test for power at the connectors to those lights to.
You will need to do a little testing to find the problem.

GMC Envoy 2003 SLT only the parking lights and fog lights work. The low beam and high beam don't work. Please help

Well, the problem is that I dont know the reason, you should investigate. There could be issues with lamps (must get new) or electricity problems (must head to auto-service)

Make sure the high beam realay under the hood fuse box is working. You can swap the hi beam relay with the horn relay to test. The hi beam filiament in the bulb can be open too.
