Could it be a mass air flow sensor. or o2 sensor that not making it start.

If it just stopped while driving, the first thing I would check is to see if the cam shaft is turning ( broken timing belt/chain)
next thing would be to run the fault codes (you have a fault because the blinking light) to determine the exact cause of the fault and so save time and money guessing
